alltatup well I see this pandemic from different view. I have been a long term advocate for health reforms and quality of healthcare system. This pandemic didn't really catch me by surprise me because doctors and scientists were saying this will happen, they also told why and how, they just didn't know when. We are talking death rates in "first world" countries where hygiene and standards are high than the rest of the world. Think about how other countries would be dealing with this. While death is inevitable, it doesn't mean that we should just wait it out. To put in perspective 1.25M people died in road accident in 2013(only latest data on WHO) that has led to create more safer cars and safer roads. Tsunamis and hurricanes has led to develop early warning system. So I see this pandemic in very positivist way. It will test the politicians, bureaucrats, hospitals, doctors and moreover people. I just hope that all of them learns their individual and societal responsibilities because this might be the first pandemic but it most certainly not the last one.

I have to be a contrarian on this. The 1918 Spanish flu actually started in Fort Riley Kansas. The 3 waves of this ultra pandemic killed 20-50 million people world wide. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-...uenza-epidemic Can't blame Jina on this one.

About all you have to worry about is an occasional hurricane. Check out this oldie! https://youtu.be/eEep67akIn4 "I don't want to die in a nuclear war! I want to sale away to a distant shore, and live like an ape man." the Kinks

Totally safe. They already got leprosy contained to a building. Aren't Samoans heathens who practice free and unsafe sex and drink from communal bowls of sacrificial virgin blood? Absolutely no social distance? No precautions? If they don't have C-19 by now, they're golden.

herbgrower, it does no good to deny the reality of the deaths caused by this virus. The fact is, various folks on this forum have died from various ailments; there is no life without death, so why deny it?

I am saddened by anyone's death that might have been prevented, but I'd rather accept the reality of what is happening now, because I can't change it. History is full of mistakes that were made, and they're always quite clear in retrospect. I can deal with the reality and practice safety. I think probably most folks on this forum can practice safety, it's poorer people who may have a hard time staying safe.

GreenState Yeah I know the story about Coke/Pepsi shares in Buffet's younger days. However let me rephrase my statement. Buffet got the majority of his investment capital from GEICO. He had to siphon off those huge amounts from the many. A little story about this skin fucking flint. My son at one time was a manager at the Quest Center in Omaha where Buffet held his Berkshire Hathaway Roman orgies. Many of the food staff complained to my son that Buffet was never leaving a tip. Imagine a multibillionaire being to cheap to give a lowly waiter a bit of a reward! "They've already been compensated for their work". https://youtu.be/JGfXiIXTpE0

I do have GEICO insurance for one reason only, the lowest goddamn rate. They keep their pencils pretty sharp over there. I hate giving mister buy and hold one goddamn phennig! Buy and hold no matter what his only investment strategy. It's so easy a cave man could do it. The oracle of Omaha got caught with his shorts down in 2008, and in this collapse he will continue to hold his shares while struggling for life on a ventilator.

You'll be glad to know that america's Jewish Bolshevik Commie has dropped out of the presidential. You don't have Bernie to kick around any longer. By the way he has been recommending charities for weeks in his campaign emails. You two Vermonters must think alike!
