Got to louping my hash after reading about different qualities by micron size. Everything boils down to how much particulate you have in your trichomes.
Up real close, I cannot tell the difference between my 73 and 25.
At a distance, the 73 is a little darker than the 25. My uneducated self would say the 25 micron is a better, cleaner hash than the 73 because of the color.
Am I wrong, again? Why am I wrong, again?

In my personal experience the 25 isn’t good hash. Ive tried it a few times and have been disappointed.
That fine mesh also clogs up fast and holds up the production as it won’t drain. I’ve stopped using it.
If it desent get caught in my 45 it goes down the drain, which can be hard to make peace with. It could be used for edibles I suppose.
Unfortunately a lot of the small bag kits don’t include the 45, I have to buy the 8 bag set to get it

Smallgrow in the handful of times I've made bubble hash, this is the first time the bags have come clean with just a wash. The screens are clean. The sides are clean.
I am the first to admit I am no hash maven. I could probably tell the best from the worst in a bowl, but the 25 smoked as smoothe as the 73.
Perhaps trichome size has something to do with quality? Return? High?
'cause seriously, I cannot tell a difference visually or otherwise between my 25 and 73 micron hash. Except the 25 has gone a little bit darker.

      Experimenting with drugs.
1.4ish grams of 220 hash dissolved in ISO, frozen, strained through a 20 micron screen, dried.
The little green turd is the money. It don't dab particular smoothe but my esophagus don't object and I'm sure it's way smoother than the beginning 220. The taste is hashy and the smell in the banger is... neutral? Anyway, it isn't nasty.
The little brown pile is the powdery strained out biomass.
Now, don't y'all be goin' on hating me for using ISO. It was an experiment.
Is it QWISO? Is it RSO?

I don't see the problem using ISO. It serves a perfectly good purpose and if you work it correctly and using the good stuff 99.9+% purity you just can't tell how it was done by smoking it. The ISO is gone

I still have a gallon of the 100% ISO stuff in the freezer and nicely dried trichome encrusted trim from the four autos sitting on cardboard in the basement. Maybe 2oz, need to sort some decent coffee filters this week and will run it as QWISO.
I'm loving smoking these autos. The sativas I've been smoking just don't have the effects on me they used to have, even after taking a four week break from smoking.

        So, this whole ISO thing.
The bottle says it contains two things: 91% isopropyl alcohol and 9% purified water.
Checking out the MSDS for my brand says nothing about it is carcinogenic.
As a general solvent for extraction, no. I would not choose ISO simply because it is not meant for food. I would much rather use a food grade. However, even food grade can have drawbacks. Where and what is the perfect alcohol to use and who do I have to kill to afford it?
If I process 2 grams every very long time, I'm willing to risk it. Plus, I dab. I've already condemned myself to whatever heavy and extensive use of the stuff is going to do.
I go rosin when I can but I'll still need to know who to kill to switch for good.

Bluey, bro! Do what I did! Sift your frozen and soak the 120. My little green turd is, perhaps, curing. Tastes different every day.

Whatever luck you have, the more leaf you wash, the nastier the result. All you need to do is work it through a 220 screen.

So the go would be either a bubble bag and ice and iced water or just a 220 micro sieve?

            Either/or, I'd say. I went ice water.
The point is cleaning up the otherwise 'low grade' hash for decent dabbing as well as having something real fine to light. Removing as much biomass and wax as I can.

I don't know if the availability of this product from this company is new or why I never saw it. But I found "Food & Lab Grade 200 Proof Ethanol - 99.97% - USP-NF, Kosher" without hardly trying. Shipping and tax come to change-less-than $90 for a gallon. I don't know if that is a good price. Whatever, anyway. I found it.
Next payday, the Buchner funnel and flask.

            Hey Mr. F.
I don't know what it comes from. Isn't alcohol... alcohol when it is this pure?

You know what an azeotrop is correct? As soon as it is opened it will start to dilute itself to 95%.

I was just thinking about bubble hash today. I want to make some. I also want to experiment with making RSO, but in time. I bought a gram of FECO in 2020 at a dispensary, where I worked briefly as a bud tender. I believe it was Romulan and was potent AF (said 70%). I never had another FECO gram syringe that packed that punch. Maybe I just need that strain again. Or maybe I'm chasing the green dragon...

          Also need some Grandaddy Purple.....

Ckbrew per azeotrope in #52.3. By name, no. By concept, yes.
I read something about no such thing as 100% pure alcohol because at some point, drying agents are added to remove extra %% moisture. Those drying agents are the first to separate. How fast it happens, I guess you just told me.
C₂H₆O is C₂H₆O, (+/- 0.03%) is my point. Does it matter where the alcohol came from? Another something I read about the "best" alcohol a particular industrial RSO maker used was from grape seed. Why is one better than another?

I've been dabbing Ultimate Jack today. I'm not usually into Sativa so I am really wanting to talk about the different alcohols. But I'm not going to because I'm surprisingly amped and do not want to make a Sativass out of myself.

In this application it does not matter what the sugar source was to make the ethanol. In liquor, the ethanol is usually 40-50%. The remaining is water and other miscellaneous substances that impart the flavor. Whiskey vs tequila. The non ethanol portion is the difference. In high quality vodka or grain alcohol it is distilled to 95%, diluted with pure water, then re-distilled. This "washes" out the flavor leaving only water. To make 100% ethanol you need to make an alternate azeotrope, I believe benzene would accomplish this, or treat it with a molecular sieve, a clay like substance that has a higher affinity for water than the ethanol.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

                That's why it's $90 a gallon, I'm sure.
