The Great Auto Showdown

Thing 2 nug pic - orange cookies

She felt ready to jar on the outside but after really getting in there for the final trim shes still a little wet. Another day or 2 should do it. She smells like heavy gasoline with a hint of citrus. Not the best yeild as shes around 45g right now and still going to lose some weight. Definitely my highest quality plant this far though so still pleased with the result.

Actually, old school method is to split main stem with a nail and leave it. You do it at the beginning of bloom and it makes for fuller buds. My mom used to do it. It’s never really been proven as fact, but I know of a few growers that still do it.

Juicyj89 I’ve wondered the same thing for years...lol. It would have to be wet weight tho. Most I’ve ever gotten dry from a single plant was around 32 oz and that was like 20 yrs ago on a 16’ Afghan. The main stalk was the size of my arm. I’ve seen Jack Herer grow the same size. That’s why I was excited to see what oldjarhead100 was gonna fare on his. Outdoors they can be monsters!

I just wanted to do a general post. I’m personal friends with a couple ppl on here and they are with others, needless to say I know most people’s stories.
What I’m trying to say is not only does weed help by smoking, but the whole growing aspect is part of the real calm to finding ones Zen. I’ve been really happy with this group of growers. The highlight of my days, most of them, is going and feeding my girls, training, smelling them, and just being around them. Most of you know my story and when I was down you reached out to me on here and via email. Thank you all for that. Some of us have our personal demons and this is our escape. I’m looking forward to our summer grow competition. I want to come up with the plan for it to make it fair. Not all of us have property to grow giants, but it would be fun to have a catagory of largest plant😁.
Anyway, again...thx to you that have helped me and each other these past few months.
Mr. Furley will have the prettiest plant, spidermite will definitely have the largest bud, so just have to see who’ll have the best dry weight.
🙏🏼✌🏻
Ill post my pix in a couple hrs when I go to water.

Hey so yeah just those 5 nugs in my hand weighed 56g fresh off the plant. Unless I flubbed and didn’t add right. But I’m pretty sure the biggest was 16g then the 3 in the middle were 11’s and the small was 6. So yeah I guess that’s right. But its not the whole plant like I said. Just the mains basically. And as far as the grams go someone else said wet because those are insane yeilds if so. But thanks 🙏

Juicyj89 it is dry weight. And the yields are for great growers with 600 plus watt lights, actual watts. It is possible to get over 1000grams dry weight in a 4x4 area with a 1000 watt mh/hps. Nebula got like 600grams dry in a 2x4 with a 315watt lec I think it was.

Thank you Spidermite and every one else, very kind words.
I do not Flux, I top at the Forth when I have six nodes and grow four set of branches out FLAT in a star to the edge of the pot then flip to 12/12. Kind of a 4 way manifold If I have two very strong/fast growing tops I have been know to top them again. The last couple years I have been getting good, flat, bushy plant using this style in my environment.

Now out of all fairness I do want to remind everyone that Thing one was my entry for the competition and is not done.

Thanks for the kind words on my buds. But I dont know about the biggest bud. We will see how she goes. Again my big plants in that tent are not in the competition. Thing 2 made I think was 59 grams dry. But like I said I ruined that plant. By weight thing 1 has the possibility of having the heaviest bud maybe. But others here have huge buds too. Mr.furley bud is gonna double in girth so damn.

Happy Saturday to all!
First like to say about Retodd idea of biggest this summer sounds like a blast. Have 2 categories - autos and photos and i'll join for sure. Have 3 seeds been wondering how to grow and when so I'll figure that out - the 3 seeds are from Dutch Passion and the strain is 'Think Big' -

Thing 1 and Thing 2 are packing in the resin on their buds - pretty thirsty this past week - trichomes on 1 are clouding over, 2 are still clear.

They are all at day 85.

Observations thus far - Optic 4 must have a lot to do with the differences in the grow i'm having. I have grown all these before. Purple Stilton never went purply on me last time - Haze CBD never had buds this fat last time and Bubba Kush is one of my favs, have one growing in each of my last 5 grows. This grow Bubba is more droopy than before and the big difference is the size and strength of her branches and stem, really solid and strong. She is producing the buds I am used to seeing, usually kinda small but fat and dense with resin. The colder nights also must have something to do with the differences i'm seeing.

All your grows are looking awesome. Good job by all!

Not going to win any biggest cola competition when thing 1 has about 30 of them. Not counting little bud sites on the side - I'm counting all the buds that are standing straight up and pointing up to the light. Thing 2 has about 15.

Good grow

Don't get me wrong The tincture, gummies, dabs, blunts, bowls, Joints, magic butter, lotions, vaping three different ways all help with the physical pain and mental aspects of my life but the biggest help to my well being has been by far the time I get to spend in the garden with my girls and the camaraderie and support this forum and website has shown for years I have been here. Such a great place to be, with great compassionate people looking to help one another.
Live well, be kind, and Growers love.
