  • Hey bro...I’ve never used cal mag before and not sure what size to order, etc. I’m getting ready to place a order on my eBay. Have a special brand you use? What’s the application that all of you are using, like how much a day, when, etc? I’m only doing the one plant.
    Thx man

I have just gotten my cal/mag from walmart. And I only use it once every other week or so. But I use the fox farms trio also. I just have the Alaska Naturals calcium, nitrogen, magnesium. 1 quart using it like I do lasts me a year. I use 1 tsp per gallon.
Hi Red...how`s tricks mate? Red, I respect your grows mate. Granted, you have mighty powerful lighting but that means nought if you can`t transfer that to yield. Now, I`ve always gone for semi field of green grows, kinda thing...12 plants yielding 1-2 ounces if not more and build stock up then shut down for summer. Now though I`m letting them have more room working towards only having 6 in there from Jan onwards. I`ve grown 4oz plus plants but those were auto`s strangely enough and I had less plants and more space. Now though I`m manifolding and working on 11-14 stems a plant. I`ve let them get taller-17-18 inches-in veg and give them loads of light and airflow...600hps when flipped. Red, my question is this, would this approach and the way I`m growing now lead to higher, wider plants and will they naturally give a greater yield . This is a chat over a cuppa and a volcano but since there`s roughly 4, 500 miles between us this will have to do sadly. I had to chop a Red Diesel down today. She had been truely infested with mites and was a silvery yellow...my eye sight isnt good and hps lighing doesn`t help-now, Anyway,I now know what to look for it`s a different story but that was a pain. Any advice regarding growing question mate would be appreciated. I haven`t put this out as a general question as I want specific advice from someone I respect who is aware of my grows. Blast out any advice, I don`t take offence...well, not when you`re 4,500 miles away. Thanks mate for any input

Yes you can get great yields with manifolding and your grow style. Just takes lots of practice and watching the plants. Yes bigger lights help. But at 600watts if you are not trying to fill to much of an area with it you could easily get over 600 grams per 600 watt light. Now how? No idea how I do it my friend. I grew up on a farm. Spent my life growing plants and just can do it. I cant really say honestly. If I knew a trick I'd give it to you. But I really dont. Can just do it. I'll try to answer any questions but past that man I just dont know.

That one is inside. It is in a 7 gallon air pot. If your growing where it is really hot id go with a larger pot in the future to keep the roots cool. Some people even put their pots in holes in the ground to help keep them cool. That really helps especially in places where it routinely hits 110 degrees plus. As long as the roots are cool your plant will do great no matter the temps if your growing outside. Its hot here but not that kind of hot. Like today it is only 97 degrees, but our humidity is between 68 to 93%.

Oh yeah do not harvest that plant to early. That one in particular can more than double in size the last week or 2 of the grow, the colas I mean.
Hey I just put up a post of day 19 to try to figure out if and when any of these are females yet as I know how important it'll be if I leave a male ...how much time do I have?

Males you can sometimes tell in as little as 21 days. Females sometimes around 30. Being new to it may take you 45 days or more to be sure. No worries though. They cant cause any issues until the flowering period. Other than wasting your time.
