  • Have to do this way can't figure out how to comment but yes..as stated in my funky journal I sent to you heat was an issue in the tent with LEDs but...but...I managed to adjust my ports...my zip on tent..kept it 75+ still had a few bud rot- lopped immediately..since I have an ongoing humidity issue. I changed all my port openings after HPS and got the heat under management. I noticed as i harvested plants at a time the reflection from the "drool pad" lining Gorilla got warmer and warmer. So there are actually 2 heat issues?
This last grow had 8 plants...
i had to open upper port, upper side port, and lower ports and given weather conditions manage front and back zips..but got it down..just different than HPS....t is worth the effort if you are not on auto switches...find the "mean"...upper ports open. Top and sides...and lower if you have them. My hygrometer is located mid area. Any more questions I am willing to do phone with you.
    dont give up the ship!

Nice! Congratulations on a great harvest! Do you have a picture of all the bud together in jars? I'd love to show your results on the LEC page!
Nebula_ I love you guys! Just made some dry ice hash and it is awesome! Can't believe it was so easy. I got my prep done before I went to the store for the dry ice but including that it only took an hour! So nice a reward too_There is NO DOUBT_ This is the BEST way to make hash. I just used some leaf trim, sugar trim and popcorn buds_ about two oz. OG Kush and Skunk #1_ great compliment. Only used the first two screens and once the resin came back to room temp it started to stick together into nice manageable clumps. Got about 1 cup of hash from each session. Saving the leftovers to make coconut oil infused caps. That's another great tutorial!
Didn't want to grind up an ounce of prime bud so I used the trim this first time but even that was great...maybe next time I'll try using some buds!

I am so glad to hear that! I also prefer the dry ice method above all others, it's so much faster/easier and you end up with so much more hash in the end! A cup x 2 is an amazing yield, thanks for letting us know, it's really great to get feedback from our readers :)
I have some leaves in the buds clawing just the small leaves not the big ones

Could you post a picture of the plant to the forum? It's especially helpful if you can take a picture of the plant in the setup under the light, as well as a picture of the problem itself :)
I read about what distance to keep lights from plant. but I'm not sure what distance you should start from. do you start at the furthest distance and work closer?
    NebulaHaze
    NebulaHaze
You want to measure the distance from the bulb to the part of the plant that's the closest, since that's the part of the plant most likely to get burned from the light/heat. If you have one stem that's way higher than the others, you can bend it over so it's the same height as the other stems. This lets you bring the lights closer, and so the light can be close to more parts of the plant!
Nebula,First of all I'd like to say great job with gwe site(which I've read 4 times)the weekly emails and now the forum. In regards to my question about galaxy hydro lights what i'm looking for is info by people who use or have used both versions of the 300w led (both 9 band and 2nd gen full spectrum) in conjunction with hps lights. In the gwe site there is mention of your interest in getting more info on grows that utilize both HPS and LED so That's what i'm doing.I've used cfl w led and cfl with hps .Everytime I out grow my grow box I make it bigger and buy more lights LOL.

I haven't tried different versions of that LED but I definitely think you'll see huge improvements in bulk by adding an HPS with one. In my opinion HPS is one of the best lights for flowering :) You'll get way better results with an HPS plus LEDs than you did with HPS plus CFLs!
Hate to keep bothering you but really look forward to your input...I cant imagine trying to keep up with all the posts

If you have time check out my harvest day 1 thread...

    Will miracle grow perlite work
    NebulaHaze
    NebulaHaze
Most Miracle-Gro stuff isn't good but their perlite is fine! It'll definitely work. Sorry for the late reply I've been in the process of moving :)
Do you still want the site for those 650 watt self-ballast cfls' ?
    NebulaHaze
    NebulaHaze
Yes, that'd be really awesome! I've never seen that before and I like to be familiar with all the different grow lights people can use :)
I'm using the Floragro trio at your recommended dosage and last night started the girls on 12 / 12. Well... it's Res change time and at this point you suggest going from 1/2 per gal to 1 teas. per gal. I'm also going to add Calimagic and Hydroguard this go around. I've never used either. Also using tap water (PHed) , is there anything I should know before I jump into this ??
    NebulaHaze
    NebulaHaze
No, it sounds like you've got everything under control! Just make sure to always add the nutrients/supplements directly to the water and never with each other. Also make sure to adjust the pH AFTER you've added everything. Other than that you're good to go!

Feel free to post some pics in the forum and we can see if we can think of anything else :)
Hi, y'all. First time indoor grower trying to get some White Widow buds for Christmas. I have 2 plants in soil in just their second week of flower. My issue: the plants are different heights. #1 sprouted a couple of days before #2 and #2 has never caught up. My LED light distance is set up for #1 and I've had to raise the whole pot for #2 about 4" now. I suppose the question is whether 2 will ever catch up to 1. And, is it normal for plants to be so different in size?

Hey guys. I meant to post on the forum. Love the site tho.
This is going to be great. Thank You so much for doing this. My daughter and I have learned so much from your always right on the money tips. This form is perfect place to get experienced help and pass on ideas that worked.
I just put my plants into bud on Sunday...after their first night of darkness all my tops even lower ones had faded yellow.by the end of their next light period the color had returned almost fully.then second night same thing happened but not quite as bad but still a color change.

Before 12/12 color was perfect everywhere.

Lec...Light about 18" away, nutes. at 1000 ppm
    In a tent with co2
    Temp at night cycle 73-77
    Temp at day cycle 83-85
    Emerald harvest nutes.

It's hard to say just from your description. Could you post a few pictures of the plant in its setup in the forum? That way we can get some eyes on it :)
