  • Hi Tika and a very Merry Christmas to you! I don't know if you still check in here or not (I haven't for quite some time) but I wanted to reach out and thank you for your encouragement to try coco. I switched back to photos last grow and tried coco. What a difference. Got my old swagger back!! Will always grow in coco from now on! Thanks again for your encouragement and floggings!!! Miss you!! Take care, My Friend.

GREAT TO HEAR from you! I’m still here , I watch & listen but only post when I can. I am thoroughly delighted to hear you have arrested photos and coco. L
LOL flogging🤗🥴 ( u are using perlite in coco right? More flog).
Stay in touch p,ease ALWAYS warms my heart to hear from you. Have you posted currently? I am about to...entering week 6 in the flower tent. And still investigating/ growing shrooms...on second grow different method.
Celebrated the winter Solstice with proper hedgewitch stuff last night. Christmas Day I hope will be a day of rest. For you I hope a most satisfying event. And including a grand NEW YEAR ( which I celebrated yesterday)
I miss you too and you ARE my friend...thanks for making my day!
Warmest hugs & kisses from me to you and yours

Thanks my sweet friend..I am ok...just so multi tasking after rains, dealing with my jobs and plants...happy, strong, but admittedly overwhelmed at times..like now. I am the physical worker at home inside and out as well as my jobs plus I have a commission for a 7x7 foot painting currently and trying to clear all the decks so I can focus on that...which is my profession. So there is more blab...if I’m absent from the forum it is because I am hauling ass ( and near tears probably).
    Warmed by your care.
    And you?
It will be a while before I can try them, I started the seeds I got in Colorado like I use to start bag seeds and ended up with everything sprouting :-) had one boy scout in the group so sent him packing. I have limited space (Strictly enforced by the bride :-)) But those look so dang good going to have to try in the fute.
I just read through your grow pdf's, pretty cool and filled with good info. Thanks

Thank you for your interest🤓 very kind of you to message me. I just do a very simple ( labor intensive) grow and hold DWC folk in high admiration.
    Take care
Hi Tika! Have I been banished from the realm??? I no longer have a new topic tab and I don't see posts from some of the old members, like you or OJH, etc. I tried to pm Nebula but got no reply. Have been away for a while but still try to check in from time to time... miss you guys!

Always good to hear from you! Yeah, I took a little break but putting a few seeds in dirt today! I saw somebody's post in defense of Campesino but I don't know any details. Since I live in VA (still wearing my illegal smile), it isn't difficult for me to play by Nebula and Sirius's rules and I have always preferred to keep a low profile. It was a leap of faith for me to join and post on GWE!! I don't know how to use Instagram or Twitter or any other new/cutting edge social media communications and frankly have no desire to learn. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks! Speaking of old dogs... we lost our pretty girl last week. I don't mean to be a downer but we are still devastated. She was 12 years old and lived a good life but it hurt more losing her than when I lost my parents or my Brother. Sorry, just needed to share. Getting back to subject at hand.. I can see responses from some regulars but don't see many, like you. I didn't know if GWE made changes to the format while I was on hiatus or if maybe I had gotten the hook too. Didn't seem like I did anything that would get me in trouble with N & S but have been surprised by folks taking my words in unintended ways! On the positive front... I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in awhile and it turns out he is a grower too! He grows in coco highly recommends doing the same. Sounds like somebody else I know! 😉 Anyway, I now have someone I know and trust to share knowledge in person! He also has a degree in horticulture and loves to tinker. We are getting together soon to compare notes and grows. I'm psyched!! Always good to hear from you, Love. Hope I can get my forum issued cleared up quickly as I always enjoy reading your posts! Take care and until the next time...

I want to address your pretty girl
I want you to know I feel it best I can. I lost my most difficult/loyal Papillon a year ago last April. I “died “ my mother within 6 weeks, “died “ my husbands aunt after several years of taking care of her here, spent 6
weeks “dying” our good friend...”dying” meaning I was on deck 24/7..meaning I stayed/slept with them before my dogs. .and I STILL cannot reconsile the loss of my 1 of 3 papillons.
The profound innocence of canine dedication is worth infinite life and I failed supplying that. It IS a grief like no other...literally. Why I don’t know and don’t care. it hurts really bad..the hurt changes but still hurts.
SO...I share this with you without answers since there are none.
Your buddy...a fine joyous note..keep me in the loop please...I have no fellow growers locally-in person crept for one event. Seize platinum Cyco Coco Coir and Vigoro perlite...I am an older dog than you.
Regarding the rest...text, email, phone chat ?
    P
    PuravidaC
Oh no, Tika. I don't believe for a second that you "failed", and you shouldn't either! Grieving and second guessing is the burden of the living and I truly believe that we shouldn't mourn their passing but should celebrate their life and all the good memories. I understand that is easier said than done. I got an urn for Rascal inscribed with, "if love could have saved you, you would have lived forever". She will live forever in my heart, and the same goes for you too. I know this sounds crazy but I still feel her presents. The other day I saw grass and leaves moving in a line like she was walking through the backyard! Would love to text or chat with you live but I need to break it to wife first. Not because of any jealousy but because she is so paranoid about me growing and being on line with the forum. In the mean time, my new grow just sprouted this morning! Tried to germinate some old photo seeds I had but they failed so I'm grow the last of my auto seeds before ordering new seeds. Photos for sure! Still growing in FFOF but with kind soil in the bottom of fabric pots this time. Between you and my friend here I may switch to coco yet... but I remain a simple man with simple pleasures!!
Good day, I have seen your name come up in forums for a long time and pulled up your profile. Did you know we joined GWE on the same day? How cool. P.S. Love your set-up, photos and advice....PEACE

Well Hi buffalobuds good day to you as well.
If we joined at the same time...where have you been? I will search you and subscribe. Thanks for your kind comments,- alas I don’t advise much unless someone is doing what I am doing with what I do it with BUT I love this forum, the peeps, the etiquette.
Thanks for checking in, am going to go find you🤗😎🤗
So I think its funny to track packages. The pen went south to Santa Barbara then LA, then it will pass you and me go to Sacramento then back to me tomorrow 😁

    Thanks Tika
another funny thing is my birthday is in 2 weeks. Cool present .

Yes I KNOW! Goes south To go north-northwest so dumb! I'm a tracking junkie.
What date is your BD? Did you see the link to instructions? Love that it does EC, PPM and temp.
    Do you use pH pens?
About to post on GWE...busy day.

Good morning Tika I have a question for you about growing in coco up until this grow I always let the coco dry out between watering s ,this grow I am trying to water daily . So far so good it just freaks me out . So I was wondering how you water your coco . I am also trying air injectors into the coco
    Tika
    Tika
    Morning OJH
I avoid letting my Coco /perlite dry out. Plants get droopy and it takes2gals per 5 gal smart pot of feed/water to get at least a 10% run off. When my plants are mature I feed every other day. Usually 1.5 gallery pot...Some require a little more or a little less.. I never feed just water. I believe drain to waste good for the plant in that it also flushes out salts in the Coco. My Coco /perlite mix - 1 part perlite to 3 parts Coco works well to drain. I like Vigoro brand As it is medium size perlite as well as Premium Cyco Coco ( having done many brands of Coco including bricks). I think my mix provides enough question, drain, etc.
When plants are younger I may go every 4th day. Basically I can tell by just lifting up the pot.also all get fed at the same time. No special cases.
As you know I use the GH Flora Trio, CaliMajic, Terpinator (following the GWE/Nebula chart. Add Liquid Kool Bloom when in flower. Never add any worm or bat castings nor teas. Just plain and simple😊
Tell me about the liquid kook bloom how much do u use

As I just posted on forum...I'm hydro-coco so LKB starts at 5 MLS....
Tika I just noticed you grow in coco could you describe to me how you water ,When I first started growing in coco I treated it like dirt and let it dry out between watering but since that time I have read and started watering coco everyday or every 2 days depending on the plants so I am curious how other growers water coco Thanks so much
    Tika
    Tika
    Hi OJH
I water/feed as needed. Depending on how old my plants are, and the ambient conditions. The flowering tent is pretty much every other day now . Generally they get 1.5 gal of food for each 5 gal smart pot with Coco/perlite. More mature plants can take 2 gals sometimes.
I drain to waste really well- making sure they don't sit in their runoff when they are returned to their saucers. Some place I posted the plant lifters I use to drain them with. I'll try to post a pic of them in a bit.
That said...You can also tell if the pot gets light..Usually they are really hungry by then.
Hey Tika, hope you don't mind the pm but want your opinion without opening it up to everyone's opinion. You have mentioned that you only grow photos, why? Have you tried autos? I just finished my first auto grow and had multiple issues with grow and getting new grow room dialed in so autos took almost 3 1/2 months. I was discussed with the grow and harvested a little early. Final product was "okay" but yield was low. My other photo grows only took a little over a month longer than the auto and I was very happy with yield and quality. I have more auto seeds so will apply what I learned on last grow and give autos another try but right now I think I prefer photos. Seems like there are a lot of folks on GWE that prefer autos. Sorry to be so long winded but wanted to know why you prefer growing photos.
    Tika
    Tika
Like your wind😜 and PM anytime.
    I'm gonna wind here..Big time.
I've grown auto once...Hated it, complained about the plants to seed company (no response). Was a Sativa blueberry from ILGM.
Green75 is Most remarkable in what HE does I think and he is a" "friend". I think his work is extraordinary.
I consider myself a newbie, always in a state of WTF. I am not innovative nor versed ...I follow directions and stay with what works for me which is why I am not an advisor..Simply this is what I do, how I do it, try it or not. That's my best form of "help" on our beloved forum.
    YES..Have observed auto posts dominant.
I brought this up with my favorite hydro guy of 5 years now ( along with GWE my source of information).
Quote: "autos are for people who don't know how to grow" end quote. Never told green this. So we won't right.
Photo takes longer, has light cycles, more difficult to do perpetual harvest. If one is smoking all they harvest on that note..ok..Maybe.
I like the bud structure of photoperiod seeds- I think not as larfy as auto tho I had larfy blue cheese inside and out that was divine smoke -coveted.
    (Not done yet with Wind)
Small tent folk seem to go for autos..Beach_Town_Brit another good friend ...BUT ONE strong healthy photo will yield better than several autos...White widow being one .
    ...More wind...
I've grown "regular seeds" Once in 5 years...Hated it and still hate the waste of time, energy ,
Food, nutrients etc BUT I hear they are more vital /strong than feminized seeds (my ilk). So running this with my honeysticks adventure ( which no one seems to care about on forum ) . Sexing is abitch not so simple as it seems.
The scrog folk work hard, the photo work hard, the regulars need time ,space and money.
My hydro guy proposed I should generate my own seed/ be my own breeder..I said "bite me".

    Grasp for air....
I like photoperiod: will not do autos again, my bud structure is good, my yields are fine,my potency applauded, and it takes longer than autos.
We shall see with the regular seed issue... Robust plants this far all 24 of 24 just need firm sexing.
SOworking a thread about why or why not auto/ photo may or may not generate thought...Kinda like Trump/no Trump
You opened my can, lots of worms.
    Thanks for your patience
    And appreciate you😘

Sounds like you and I are on the same page. Although I have been pleased with past photo grows, I got sucked into the dark side (autos) after reading all the hype on GWE! And yes, Green has done incredible things with his autos. Like I said earlier, I still have some auto seeds and do not believe in waste so will be growing them but looking forward to getting back to photos. I have almost gotten to the point of not growing at all but this was supposed to be a hobby in retirement as well as a cost savings since I am on a fixed income! For better or worst, my first grow was the best so the bar was set pretty high from the start. Now I have spent time and money improving set up and still haven't had better success than my first CFL grow!! 😂 Sorry for the pity party but still trying to get grow space right. I live in an illegal state so stealth is key for me and my new 6" exhaust fan sounds like a jet taking off just to keep temps in the low 80's. I WILL get space where I need it to be, just feeling fruatrated, so I need a good grow to get my mojo back! I can't imagine growing as many plants as you and now you have taken on regular seeds! I have been trolling your honeysticks forum!! I applaud your response to breeding and take to heart your commitment of staying with what works for you. I have promised myself that I am not going to make anymore "improvements" until I find my on path and that will start with photos! I like everything about photos except lenght of grow. I like to travel and don't have anyone to babysit plants so timing can be a royal pain! But you are a source of inspiration for me and I thank you for that!! And let's not even get started with Trump/no Trump or we both will get winded!!! Suffice it to say, I can't wait for the ending!!
Hey Tika! I was on my deck last night, enjoying the unseasonably warm weather we are having, and thought about the Wagonettes. It brought a smile to my face!! You send out good vibes from coast to coast!! Just had to let you know... 😁

Again if you want a write up on cookies...I will. They are not pretty and don't taste too good but...Evidently work😘
I have been jokingly saying to a few folks that I am hoping you are wanting to adopt, or at least willing to give it a thought. I know kids can be a financial hardship sometimes (we have an adult one), so I thought maybe just dropping in to spend a week or two with mom a few times a year wouldn't be too much of a burden. :) I could help with the garden,

Thanks so much for all of your expertise, great attitude and your AMAZING GROWS! and tho I'm really not much of a cat person, the cabbage cap and shades are quite fetching. LOL Thanks again Tika

Sometimes I really yearn for help.think how fun it would be To trim buds around the trim table taking it up and pissing each other off.
    I love Canada!
Hey Tina! Check out my latest post on "pot size". Your opinion is invaluable to me!! I don't know if I am expecting too much, too soon or not but it woke me up early this morning!! If I am getting too anxious, please don't hesitate to tell me to smoke a bowl and chill out! 😊

I respect your privacy... and trust. Girls are doing better but I fear the stress has effected their growth. We shall see... You have really got me thinking about using coco. Been reading up on the subject! Which coco do you use?

Wishing you a great holiday, support your curiosity for Coco/ perlite, and really appreciate your "companionship" 😊 May your days be cheery and bright!!!
I have after much testing found Cyco Platinum Coco and Vigoro perlite to be the best for me...8 photo grows at least. Very delighted with it mixing as approx 3 parts Coco to one part perlite more or less and brand specific.
    Sending best regards

I finally figured out how to message u this has to do with dunking your s.p. I’m using 3 gal. Right now fits real well in 5 gal bucket, l place a gal of water in bottom of bucket, place s.p. Inside bucket it floats I press it down and wait till it absorbs, then I add a gal more.and again it floats,I press it down till it absorbs again and if more is needed I continue until plant is full, place on rack and drain as usual hope this helps! P.S. this method can and has been used on bigger s.p. As well.

Hey Tika! I am all ears... what do you suggest for working around being absent at harvest??? I know you are West coast and I am East coast, but if you want to see the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail you have an open invitation!! Both run through my area! 😆
having a hard time reading this section.. I use 2 oz ground BUD. Decarb it @240 in oven proof dish wrapped in 2 layers aluminum foil for 60 minutes.cool-freeze. is this what it says? and awesome tutorial i got 5lbs of trim =D
    Tika
    Tika
Yes. The ground decarb bud goes into freezer as freezing helps to loosen / freeze the trichomes. The alcohol is in the freezer too. Then combine the two and shake for 5 minutes straight. Then continue to shake as often as you can (for 11 days is my pref.) have fun!
Tika I used gh for a couple of grows then went to a grow show and got a truck load of free nutes took the time to test products with different plants now I use age old organics its not as expensive as others and it works great

    Hi Tika,
I read on one of the threads that you grew Pure Power Plant from Nirvana. I'm currently looking at to buying those seeds for a good daytime / work high. How was the grow? What did you think of the high? I would appreciate any first-hand knowledge you could share.

    Nice to hear from you.
PPP was easie to grow . I don't consume much smoke myself ( I do tinctures) but my friends really enjoyed her (all gone) . Nice size buds , no bud rot, or mold, and accepts LST nicely. also Iike Jock horror. I think Nirvana has very reliable and enjoyable day trippers! I just placed an order with Nirvana...someone said they no longer take credit cards but I used mine. Waiting for ship notice and a tad bit anxious as there was a post on the forum that "Nirvana" got busted ( a link to article provided) in Maine...?
