Figured I'd start a thread for all the outdoor growers. Love to see what everyone's growing around the country, around the world for that matter. Still thawing out here in Virginia but a lot of work to do to get ready for the season. First of all have to get a new greenhouse as the ice and snow collapsed my old one. Compost pile finally thawing out. Have around 200 gallons of year old reamended living soil cooking under a tarp but raccoons keep digging through it, probably because of the fish and crustacean meal. Probably pissed them off pretty good when they couldn't find the damn fish. Plan on growing a selection of landraces as well as some modern hybrids. This will be my 6th year growing outdoors and last year was my best harvest yet. Hope to do even better this year if the weather cooperates, which is definitely hit or miss here on the east coast. Love growing in my indoor tents but outdoors is a special challenge. So everyone jump on board and show off your grows.

Still got a ways to go here in CT. Over a foot still on the ground with more this weekend. Just seems like forever. Last year we had crocuses by now. Bought some bigger pots. Going to be tough to move around for light. We'll see. Can't wait though.

Always fun for a while. Northeast hasn't been kind for a few years now towards fall. Eternal optimists hope for that one good finish. Maybe we're just masochists.

Bowhunterwoody - If you thought the past few years have not been ideal -wait to you see what happens this year - It is middle of June before we get anything I would call summer temps and the lakes are FROZEN this year, Maybe some autos - I found a nice Purple Kush Auto that grew out side last year. She was small but I liked the end results. Gator go with autos and maybe a fast version as well. The auto will be most likely small but a fast version will be normal size.

There have been a few seed donors here on the site that have really really fast versions.

Orggrwr Imma follow along and watch for the landraces. I really want to grow some sativa landraces but am not set up to do it outdoors. I don't really have a good space. Some of the pics I've seen of the seeds I want to grow have these giant plants with ginormous buds. I hope you have great results!

If i was you i wud stick to autos outside, here in the N.E. it doesnt go 12/12 till mid Sept. and can drop a foot of snow on halloween. im dyin to try an indoor grow just to see what i get out of a photo thats been trained

Yes!!, and I can make use of the smaller leaves on the maple trees in the back of the house,more sunlight for the girls

Hey Beeman, what's up? is that fencing anti deer or is there something else going on there? I,m also on the EC and it's gonna be mo.'s b-4 i can even think about an outdoor grow after yesterdays blizzard. Hoping to start my 1st indoor grow in a month or so, we'll see what happens

2 fold reasonings on the fence 1 to keep critters out and 2 in Missouri if you grow outdoors you are required by law to keep your grow fenced up, labeled and locked and away from public view. I went the extra mile to get my permit to grow. I figured since it legal now follow the rules and play the game.while legal on the state level not on the federal I covering my butt just in case…

Man I'd love to be growing outdoors. I live in OK. I don't have the fence requirement. But the law here says the MJ cannot be seen from the road. Where I would need to grow can be partially seen from the road. When medical was approved the state was overwhelmed with illegal grows, growers, and sellers. That's all I would need is to have some OMMA bubba parked at my front door.

Alright, things are finally warming up. Uncovered my pile of living soil a couple days ago and gave it a good stir. Looking good but some kind of critter has been digging through it. Popped some Highland Laos landrace sativas and ended up with 6 healthy seedlings so hopefully will get 3 females for an indoor run and some clones for outdoor. Got a new air cloner for Christmas im dying to try out. Also if anyone tries to germinate landrace seeds make sure to give them a 1% hydrogen peroxide bath for 12 hours then pop as usual. The reason is seeds collected in the field can carry mold and fungus spores that can kill seedlings, especially those from tropical regions of Asia and Africa. I skipped this step on my first batch and several seeds popped but then rotted just as they were coming out of the ground. So i have 1 seedling a week older than the other 5 but they will catch up. You can already see the difference in the leaves from the indica hybrids im used to. Also have some Comfrey root cuttings and pepper seeds going. Can't wait till it's time to plant outside.

I did my first in ground grow last summer/fall. Normally use coco/perlite in greenhouse.
Did two photoperiods. Prepped the soil well, did IPM from the beginning and zero problems. Got 30 oz of decent bud. Later, I put three autos in, smaller plants yielded another 6 oz.
Thus was my easiest grow ever.
Buds were a bit larfy due to months of 100° + heat in AZ but so easy - like growing tomatoes.
I am starting new photos and autos this week to get them out
by mid-April. Already been 90° here. Snow? What's that? )
