Can you use AI to grow cannabis? (serious question)

So clearly, the best thing you can do to grow weed is read a good tutorial. I'm not at all arguing that's not the best way to learn how to grow weed at home.

    But...

It just made me wonder. Is there any kind of AI specifically made for growing weed, that can kind of give you personal attention?

I've found AI sometimes blocks weed related content. It will answer some times, but not others. And I've seen it give blatantly incorrect info like saying a deficiency was caused by lack of CalMag, and to get a CalMag supplement. But I was just testing it. I knew the issue was pH. It's always pH lol. And once I fixed the pH the plant was better. But if I was a beginner grower and didn't know better, I would have went and bought a Calmag supplement instead of fixing the problem. I'm not saying Cal-Mag isn't awesome, just that it wasn't actually my problem in this particular case.

So is there any AI that just tells you what to do and doesn't misdiagnose? But then, I guess, misdiagnosing is what people unintentionally often do on sites like Reddit, and the AI was training on Reddit... So it makes sense. it doesn't "know" who to trust either.

Have you ever used any AI like ChatGPT to help with growing? Or like a mobile app AI or something? How did it go (good or bad)?

IDK of and have not heard of any AI being developed or in service to grow weed. But I am not up to speed on all current affairs related to the business side of things like that. I have not interacted with ChatGPT about growing weed. Reddit has it pros and cons, mainly cons because one has to sift through nonsense sometimes to get good information. Other web sites offer specific information that I need for my system of growing, but everything I know has been learned right here. The Master Grower's class that Nebula and Sirius offers is top shelf, even for experienced growers.

I have been experimenting with google's Gemini. It's interesting. There is a disclaimer about accuracy. I have gotten into some specific chats about refining my autopot system. I've called out Gemini for being incorrect, giving me corporate speak answers, and correcting simple math at times. It has acknowledged the corrections each time and thanked me for pointing it out. It's weird but talking with the computer is not much different than typing on the forum. That may not be that big of a deal but for a skeptic like me that was a notable observation. I still remember the nightmares from 2001 A Space Odyssey. HA!

Based on my experience so far, I think AI can help a grower with refining nutrient application with specific application rates for a particular strain/cultivar based on the breeder's advice/information for that strain. I'm putting that to the test on my next autoflower grow. So we will see.

I'll follow along with that, I'm trying to automate my tent and I'm technically challenged, let's see how this one goes lol

This sounds like a solution in search of a problem. Why make it more complicated? KISS. my $0.02.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

I like KISS. The camera just sounds like fun. Trying to simplify my nutrients and application for autos led me to experiment with AI. I've thought for a while that I could improve my yields with autos. I was thinking of switching to another line of nutes for autoflowers only, but don't want to run two lines. I'm going back to the basics with CX. The next auto grow will be base nutrients along with a flower boost and root protector and that's it.

Ac Infinity has their AI controller that is supposed to do just that. In addition to AI to adjust your environmentals automatically, it has a chat GPT type chat bott to answer all your growing questions.
          Does it work , no.

I bought one because it is their flagship and newest controller with a couple features the 69pro doesn’t have( I think). I lasted about 48 hours before I figured out how to disable the AI component. It’s a good controller manually, still lots of automation just not AI.

I’m certain AI is here to stay but personally I don’t think it is nearly as useful yet as the companies what you to believe. Time will tell where it’s headed.
Humans have quite a history of incredible inventions which we inevitably take too far and then create a huge problem. Plastic , fossil fuel, the internet, etc All incredible inventions all taken too far, all may play a part in our demise.

wow thats depressing, now have to go get stoned 😎

I'll add one more to your list, GPS. I like technology and use it. But I am skeptical of AI. It can be useful but at the same time it can be harmful. If people are in charge of it unchecked it will def be harmful. I like to look in on my plants and would not use an AI camera to substitute for that.

For me a big part of the joy I get from growing is experimenting and testing the Bro science that have become "rules to grow by". If not for that kind of research and recovering when I screw up I dont know that i would even bother with growing my own
