Is it possible to overdose on marijuana? My new answer is: It depends on what you call an overdose.
Some y'all know my foray into RSO and Aunt Ginnie's CDB heavy dope and commenting on how powerful dabbing and eating it was.
Well, I took a half gram of RSO before bed last week. Didn't sleep for shit that night and have been... different since. I won't go much into specifics other than my tolerance has plunged to that of a pink lunged square and I have little interest in using. The RSO got traded off for my regular stuff.
Way back ago when I had an actual medical marijuana license I tried a CBD pen. I know that stuff is supposed to be calming or whatever, but I remember not using much of it because I got super paranoid for days.
Got some other stupid shit come up recently involving lawyers and doctors (not related.) I don't know if this is the end or near end of me doing my thing. 5 plants are growing and will continue to grow, but I don't know what's going to happen to them come harvest.
Might not be around much more than I have this last week until things sort out. If I'm not ordering food, I'm pretty well off the computer.

I used to be a firm believer that MJ was not addictive. Now I'm not so sure. THC stores in fat cells. If I remember right it takes about 30 days to clear out of an average weight human. Take a break dawg, you might just need a rest.

It's permanent in hair until the hair that grew during use is cut. It is a very expensive test, so not used so much.

I had some 400 mg gummies that were almost enough to make me call for an ambulance, I kept falling down and when I tried to pick myself up my arms would tremble. A voice inside my head said to ride it out and I did. I wont do a whole one of those again

I made hash oil in a frying pan double boiler once and my wife used the pan to make an omelet before I could thoroughly clean it. Not a good idea. She called me at work and said she couldn't walk. She called me 30 minutes later and she couldn't talk to me. I had no idea if you could die from it or not. I couldn't get home fast enough. When I got home she was in pretty bad shape. She was so bad she was twitching like she was being shocked electrically with every breath. I had no idea what to do. Everything I read online said you couldn't OD on thc. But this was hash oil, not weed. We ended up riding it out after I started counting the twitching to one per breath. When it started slowing down I felt we could ride it out. I’ve never been more scared in my life. Needless to say I have dedicated the frying pan to the shed for oil only use.

What I have always understood about that 'not ODing on THC' comment is that no one has ever died from THC. People usually assume OD means dying. Which is another reason I have issue with the way the word is used. I don't discount your fears. I'm in a semantic mode.

The 500mg capsule I ate was RSO. I'm real darned sure there wasn't 500mg of THC and CBD combined. I've had 500mg THC edibles without issue. With my previous CBD experience, I'm chalking this up to CBD. Chemicals affect us all differently. CBD is one I cannot handle the way many people do. I probably did more than my body can handle and am paying for it. Hard lesson learning.
What is an overdose? By definition, if you take more than an intended dose, you have overdosed. Same-same with drug abuse. Dosing marijuana is currently impossible only because there is no set dose on anything in marijuana. A bowl is not a dose. A bowl is a quantity of a substance with an unknown amount of any number of chemicals that are either good for us or bad for us. In my situation, I took something my body can't handle. It could just as easily have been peanuts, had I an unknown peanut allergy. Maybe allergic reaction is more apropos in my situation.
Addiction is another word that needs refining before defining. Are we talking about physical, mental, emotional, lifestyle or spiritual addiction? I can argue anything a human being does can become addictive. We are quite stupid, we humans.

I don't consider myself stupid but I will admit that upon reflection I have done some stupid stuff. After reading the posts above I was reminded of an experience I had with tincture. Took to much, Had to lay on the bed and stare at the ceiling and try to control my breathing. Lasted a while. Edibles are difficult for me to dose correctly for my body. That's why I like smoking and vaping.

Doing something stupid is not doing something with an unforeseen outcome.
I've been brow beaten into brow beating myself about having done many stupid things. The older I get, the more I say fuck those people and forgive myself. I could have been much stupider.

For 50 years I only occasionally smoked flower, usually in a pipe or bong. After recreational passed in my state, I started growing and making hash, RSO and chocolate edibles with the excess. For the lesser experienced, smoking flower and hash is a quick stone and wears off in a few hours. Edibles take 30 minutes to an hour to kick in and last much longer. The liver converts the THC to 10-oxy THC which is stronger.
RSO is super potent, to the point I wipe a glass stir rod on fresh bread when making it - which results in a strong, crunchy edible (not the tastiest!). I make chocolate edibles only when the rest of the day is free. After licking the bowl I am truly couch locked.
Taking big doses of edibles is ill-advised unless you really want to get fucked up. Do you? And never leave them where an unsuspecting adult, child or pet can get into them.
There are a lot of good experiences in this post from folks who well know the dangers.
I'd advise our newer growers to read and take heed.

First time I knew Id had way too much was when Id shared a joint at a party with 3 others. It was skunk and it brought on uncontrollable twitching of my knees and shoulders. A black tie affair no less. I had to leave.

Second time was after getting out of hospital after a general anaesthetic. It caused a one and only panic attack, psychosis delusional thinking, anxiety and paranoia Skunk again. Bordering on suicidal. That was bad and I called a friend to come over and monitor me until I recovered which took a few hours.

Twitching comes on early with me. Its off putting, normally preceded by tension and anxiety. It can take 10 or 20 minutes to ride it out and once past the next couple of hours is where it's at.

Haven't had any in well over a year now.
