    Auto CBD seed run

Just bookmarking a topic for the start of my auto CBD seed run. Those of you who know me already know that I love growing weed and love smoking weed but hate getting super high. The THC is just too damn high in most strains these days. It's hard to find a high quality well respected low THC strain unless its high CBD. Which is fine I guess.

I just planted two 1:1 THC:CBD seeds (sometimes called "Type 2", with unbalanced like 1:30 often called "Type 3"). These are autoflowers because my good experience with Going2fast's Scarlet Grapes this last summer has me more interested in doing autos. I just planted one Canna-Cheese from Mephisto and one Honey Peach from Sweet seeds, both 1:1 expected to be 7-10% each of THC and CBD. These are each feminized and I will reverse them using colloidal silver. I want these to have a head start because these will be my males. In about 3 weeks in a separate 3x3 tent I will plant 9 plants. A lot for a 3x3 but I'm going to intentionally stunt them by topping so there are only four branches each. 9 plants in a 3x3 give one square foot per plant so four colas will be a little jammed but not too badly I think and besides I'm looking for seeds not quality flower. In this tent I'll be growing:
Non-reversed Canna cheese and honey peach (so I can self and cross the two)
    Mephisto's Aunt Ginny's Elixer (a 1:1 CBD auto)
    Scarlet Grapes (with Going2fast permission)
    Mephisto Blood Orange Haze
Sweet Seeds Red CBD x Auto AK (a cross I made and love, but only have two seeds left)
My Orange Zkittles cross (if I can find an auto--will be planting several and crossing fingers, according to genetics I thiink about 25% should be autos)
    Mephisto Hubbabubbasmellascope x Forum Stomper
    Bloody Sunset by Going2fast
Everything will be in 5 gallon living soil stuffed with my homemade worm compost and other great organic treats.

And of course, free seeds will be available to everyone when this wraps up, if it goes smoothly.

I'm with you on the low THC strains, always have been. But I'm really enjoying mixing it up. I have 3 of your strains now jarred and smoked and am loving the variety. We all are. The Sour Diesel crosses are strong for me but I can manage them Some of the skunk I have smoked sends me into nervous twitching which I hate so don't smoke it, way too strong for me.

I hope this grow goes well for you 🤞

The auto Honey Peach CBD from Sweet Seeds and Canna-Cheese CBD from Mephisto I planted that I will reverse into males have popped. I'm thrilled to report that the Honey Peach has Worled Phyllotaxy, three branches per node, which can give bigger yield. Happy that I'll be reversing her and preserving those genetics, perhaps the seeds will have greater chance of the same trait. I have begun to prep what will be my flower room, though I probably won't plant the females I'll cross with for another three weeks or so. This will give me a chance to finish out my other tent from a non-marijuana project I've got going on (ahem). Then I'll have a 2x2 tent with the two fathers PLUS 8 quart size pots each with one Orange Zkittles F2 (which I sometimes call Bruzzelz Zproutz.

That F2 came out of an original Zkittles Auto x HOGG Orange Barb photo, which (if I remember my biology 101) should have given me all heterozygous photoperiod dominant F1 seeds. When I crossed these with each other for the F2, it should result in 25% homozygous recessive (autoflowering), 50^ Heterozygous (photoperiod) and 25% homozygous dominant (photoperiod). I'm hunting the autos in there, which is why I'm planting so many. If I'm doing my math right, with 25% chance of being autoflowering I should have a 94.9% chance of getting at least one auto from 8 pots, (1-(1-.25)^8 =.949. Hopefully I'll get more and can choose the best.

I'll also have a 3x3 tent with 9 females as I described in the first post (actually just 8 until I find the OZ auto and move it over. I really hope I find one because I look forward to crossing with both the Cheese (for funky rotten orange) and the honey peach (for sweet candy orange) and then possibly backcrossing. I've wanted to get the OZ into autoperiod since the beginning of the OZ project, holy shit i think about four years ago now if not more.

For those of you with experience crossing autos: is three weeks head start about accurate? Also, I'll be making up my own STS spray (in the past I've used CS) to do the reversal. There's conflicting information on when that should begin to be applied but it sounds like about 2.5 - 3 weeks after the seeds pop, applied for 5 days once a day to the nodes (not the leaves). Is this what you've done? Would love to hear what works for people.

There are a ton of moving parts with all of this so I have to admit some fear that things will go terribly wrong but no matter what I'm positive I'll learn something.

I'm hemming and hawing about another thumb Franklin. Another this soon might get people talking.
I did not read all your post # 9 because I stopped at your explanation of 'Worled Phyllotaxy.' The three-node pheno comes up pretty frequently and people's eyes sparkle with the prospect of a half-again harvest. I searched the Forum and GWE central. There is no mention of WP on central and only one comes up on the Forum from back before my time. Thanks for the sciencey word!
Even when I spell it Whorled Phyllotaxy. Wink-wink.
                        C'mon, mule!

My 2nd last sativa grow did a weird thing from seed, it went single, double, triple on the nodes, then back to single, double triple again. I didcof course top just above the triples.

It wasn't a big producer but not because of that, just under a pound from her.

Bluey that's crazy, I've never seen anything like that. Mix that with a freak show and you've got a super stealth plant.

Gator here's where to start: https://www.growweedeasy.com/how-to-...arijuana-seeds I'm going to use a different method than this for this particular grow, something I've never done before for this particular grow. It seems to create more pollen and is easier, from what I've heard. Silver cyanide.

Gingerbeard whorled phyllotaxy definitely looks cooler when spelled correctly, thanks for that

It's been 16 days since the seeds that will be reversed fathers popped. Things are weird with the Honey Peach CBD plant that I thought had Whorled Phyllotaxy. It's no longer spitting out a third branch and is a runt/mutant, with some yellowing at the bottom though I'm positive her soil is rich. I probably don't want to keep these genetics and will likely cull her, or at least just ride her out and see what happens but not spread her pollen. so that just leaves the Canna Cheese. This is disappointing but I expected some problems. Maybe she'll grow out of it. On the positive side, this would make it less likely for me to mix up pollen and end up with a huge vat of crosses that can't be confirmed, so it's probably for the best. The Canna Cheese is rocking and rolling, I topped her yesterday which I don't usually do with autos but I'm trying to intentionally stunt her. She's just beginning to show preflowers and I think I'll mix up the STS spray this weekend and begin spraying soon. I've been told that three weeks is the usual time for that with autos.
