A place here has palm trees, wrapped each winter (with heat tapes?) after cutting the leaves off.

From here, it looks like mainly a heavy rain event with lots of flooding in low areas.

I tried one called Piebert, first plant to get WPM that year, so much for resistance to it.

GreenState, yea same here with the fan leaves. A few every day from each plant. Have a wedding in White River Junction on Oct.8th. They planned for peak peeping. Hope it holds out for them.

Bowhunterwoody Seems as though we had no June or July this year, strange.
I'm rapidly losing fan leaves, but I can see the trees changing already also.
If anyone is planning on leaf peeping, plan for an early peak this year.

Thanks for the suggestions friends. I kinda feel like this storm is being a little over hyped in the media but being cautious is seldom a bad thing. The plants are currently in my screen house and if the winds get nasty I may have to take the mosquito netting off the PVC framing.

Whichever way it goes it aint gonna be good, unless you want a new old lake! Be ready to do some surgery on a limb here and there, I get some damages every year, the girls are really tough and pull it back together fast, long as they are not completely busted apart. Good luck!

Hey GreenState . Yea the rain yesterday morning was nuts. 3 inches in 3 hrs. Then beautiful. Just the craziest summer weather. My photos are about as far along as yours on the right. Looks cooler then normal for the next two weeks with more rain after Monday. Just a crazy summer.

I wish i knew what the hell is going wrong with freakshow. She's just failing now. Watering doesn't help she doesn't seem to enjoy the FF bloom at all. Was doing OK before flower no great but she was green and had a hell of alot more leaf than now. She's yellowing bad, leaf going yellow falling off. I've done cal mag, i've done epsome salts drink and I've done nothing else. She's just sick and makes me sad i can't seem to snap her out of it. If it wasn't 110 inside the green house i'd throw her in there an ignore her, heck i may anyway. She's got 1/2 the leaf in the above picture damnit.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as they say. I heard it's be downgraded. I'd be more inclined to wrap in scog netting with 8ft t-post anchored.

Where I am, some people wrap their ornamental bushes in burlap for the winter so the snow doesn't trash them. Maybe lots of stakes around the perimeter to support them? Consider laying them over on their side in a controlled manner before the wind does it for you and breaks them. Best of luck and stay safe.

Any other Southern California outdoor growers having to prepare for Hillarys' arrival Sunday? My girls are in 30 gallon bags and I can't budge them so moving them indoors is a no go. Has anyone ever tried a cellophane wrap around the plant to keep the branches from being blown apart?

Humidity and mold resistant strains, that would be a good thing.

My poor waterlogged girls. 2 on the right have peanut size buds, but that one on the left is a slow poke, just starting to get some hairs on her chinny, chin, chin.
She's either going to get the ax or have to be finished inside.

Chopped one of my two remaining plants - auto flower Dos Si Dos in 7 gal fabric. It was day 78 for her. Humidity & heat has been extreme here - Long Island, NY. Bud rot is hanging in the air. I am harvesting earlier than I would have liked. I keep finding pockets of BR. Three buds removed over the last week - decided to call it a season for this plant.

With next year in mind, I'd like to find more humidity / mold tolerant strains. Any recommendations?
