There is a good chance my local medical clinic will be closing because the people who run the place are patients, not business leaders or medical professionals.
Part of the way the clinic gets funded is to have a board made primarily of patients from the community. Over the past several years, the board has hired poorly and fired no one because people quit from the frustration of bad management by the board. I found this out through an article in our community rag. The 'physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician's assistants' penned the letter in the opinions as an apology for 'hundreds' of appointments that have recently been cancelled and laid out why.
When I first went to the clinic a decade ago, I would get callbacks from my doctor to see how things were going, and I could get an appointment the same day. Now, I wait 7 weeks for an appointment with a [person] that gets cancelled two days before with an offer of another opening in 3 weeks. I don't get referrals I need to see specialists after 8 weeks. I will never see the same [person] twice. Their patient portal is 75% useless, including most messages that I have sent were never answered. I've walked out of appointments because the [person] who was supposed to see me didn't show up after 30 minutes.
I switched my healthcare over from the VA to this clinic because the VA had their own issues and the main hospital is an hour away by car. I can see the front door of my clinic from my front door. In my experience with VA doctors, they think their patients are full of shit and looking for pain meds. The [people] at the clinic are friendly enough and seem to care.
Friends have said big changes have been made and I should give the VA another shot. Goddamn that is a large-size pain in the ass.

I just spent 3 nights in hospital telling them my back hurts, they spent the whole time checking my heart and lungs to tell my I have a back problem and need to see a surgeon. Just what the hell did they think I was telling when I said "my back hurts"? I hate ignorance!

I hate Drs, if you are late its schedule another appointment, if they are late its like oh well. Damn, I did not know a damn hoe could cause so much pain. I have went to the ER twice and tell them "my back hurts like hell" so they do all these damn tests on my heart and lungs and refused to do an MRI. 2 ER visits and 3 nights in the hospital to be told you need to see an orthopedic surgeon, and the second trip they didn't even give me anything to help with pain. No referrals nothing. My PCP gave me some muscle relaxers. Well I just had a visit with the surgeon, he wants me to take a steroid pack, and do therapy while he gets an MRI approved. Now I am trying to get into therapest so they can evaluate me for therapy, I wish that just for a few minutes they could feel my pain!
Not sure if I want to go another round with the hoe, and harvest season is not far off I cant do it the way I feel, shit!

A 13 or so year rebuild timeline so far. I hate it. I blew the motor but I have a new one now. Just don't put the time into it that I need too. She deserves better. I hate that it's been in the garage but it's still stuck in a time capsule and in good shape. The motor should be good for 500 hp or so. One day...

Bunch of people were offended by the chubby app, and it got removed.
A company just had their ad campaign removed for the models being too skinny.

Just as some people should not drink alcohol for behavioral issues, some people should not smoke pot. I'm a snob when it comes to the company I keep, especially when moods and realities shift. I do not hoot-n-hollar. I don't crank up the music. I prefer peace and quiet to noise. I don't get down with stoner entertainment. I am intolerant of bad behavior. Paranoids can beat feet. I'm fairly well a nerdish square who dabs, grows dope, and has a fucking amazing ginger beard with wispy amber tresses!

I like to think that I am a tolerant person. I like loud blues music. I like peace and quiet. I'm OK with crowds for a while but then I like some solitude. Being alone does not bother me. I dislike and have no remaining tolerance for people that believe conspiracies and espouse reality. The dawg is spot on, IMHO, social media is killing our society. It's easy to type hate and discord when one does not have to face the target of the hate and discord. We have lost the ability to maintain self control and express ourselves when someone disagrees with us. The daily propaganda machines don't help.

They are just bombarded with more negative than positive. At some point it is only natural to become defensive. And how do we defend? Offend lest we keep getting offended!
