This one is for protestors. I'm all for justice and shit. Let people get their protesting permit and carry their signs around and use biodegradable paint to make their messages.
Expressing your opinion is one thing. Forcing your opinion on others is bull shit. Such as standing in front of businesses and peoples' homes with a megaphone, spouting mostly unintelligible noise. Getting in front of people who just want to walk buy, yelling at them.
Do not approach these people, alone, when mentioning the fact that people live ten feet from them. They are like piranhas. Self-righteous, closed minded, hypocrites. Apparently all our cops/sheriff's are murderers and racists.
Sorry, folks. This is my closest encounter with a protest and I wish them all time in Hell and syphilis..

I worked for 30+ years in Washington D.C. and saw them all. You should see the ones that come out for the G8 summit. 20 something jobless, unbathed hippies without a clue living in mom's basement. But they know how to fix the world.

At any given time, there are two Sheriff's deputies on patrol in my town. Today, there were four LEO vehicles standing by. That means resources had to be drawn from other communities to handle no more than six. Today should have been my bank robbery day. LEO would be too busy, standing by for shenanigans.
Since my balcony is directly above the megaphone, I was able to look down on them. One of our local perma-fried homeless fellows was talking to them. He was telling someone he really wanted to understand what the people were doing and wanted to be a part of it. Protestor person kept walking away. I should try that tack, next protest.
Alas, they have left. Probably for another neighborhood to annoy.

What exactly are they protesting, if you can even tell?

BLM, of course. People of color are being unfairly(?) unproportionally(?) frequently(?) killed and prosecuted. Local LEO's are murderers, and the local DA is okay with it, so she's a murderer, too. I don't watch much news, save BBC, so I don't know if something happened. If something did happen, the protestors didn't get into details.
A blunder on their part, perhaps, is protesting in front of the American Legion where Democrats and other counter cultures are welcomed with silence and suspicion, are served watered down drinks, and are given the slanted pool table. It's those Republican, Vietnam Era (not necessarily war) veterans with entitlement issues, I'm talking about! There's the left. There's the right. Then there's the middle. The middle is where the truth is.
Nothing got set on fire. Nothing was broken. No cars were flipped. No tear gas or rubber bullets. There weren't enough people for the 'What do we want?' chant. No white supremacists. No news cameras begging my feelings about the protest, and further explanatory questions why I obviously hate black people and am pro police brutality. Brandon was not there, shirtless, wearing a cowl with horns.
