Special "titles" for users, what do you think?

On another forum im know as Mr. AUTO. Because i use to grow nothing but autos and got big yields.

We really need to start chatting it up more. I am VERY intrigued by autos. If not for my desire to Dr Clone and even maybe create some genetics one day down the line, the ease and flexibility of auto is just so damn tempting to keep running

I dont see a problem with this. Its all in good fun. Junior Member is not the spirit of the forum, (imo) its a generic placeholder name thats easily changed to some hierarchy which most forums do have. But again this is my opinion. I love the idea. You have plants names after you... Your special title would be " has plants named after her" which means nothing to most people passing by, but would be known by the people who do hang here and sort of mean something sort of. what does it mean? meh, i dont have anyone naming plants after me yet haha. anyway I go with the flow and ride the wave and try not to disturb a good thing.

If something like a confirmed Harvester or harvest is done I would like that better that way I would be able to tell if the info given by this submiter is from experience or just from Reading other people's posts

i agree w/green on this, 100%. and i have a real life reason. i'm a newbie yet to grow and i was asking a question and someone gave a very long, very detailed answer, lots of acronyms....

a day later i was reading a different thread and he's just starting his first grow. *rubbing chin* and i'm not trying to be a dick just trying to offer helpful suggestions on how to keep the forum the spectacularly awesome place that it is.

On a side note I would like to be able to invite people to visit a thread or to subscribe weather there are always people that I want to see threads but they just Miss them

Good point Green...I often miss threads or loose where I am..see things late.
this is my first forum ( and likely only forum)..still learning the ropes.
Being a coco grower..would there be a way for newbies to easly subscribe/ follow coco growers only?
not to speak of adding in "mainline", "LST" "Top" "FIM" so people could have a route to what they are doing themselves for immediate research not that they should disregard all the other means of growing

I recommended categorizing these topics in areas that we can browse. Instead of searching, hit the TRAINING tab and get the LST top fim etc etc etc posts. Journals go to journals etc. whatever. i love this place.

Well Thats a relief! I seem to have the same problem...And me too_ first real forum participation. The folks that participate here are really good people_ so many other forums have a good number of members that don't really want to share but just to hear/see themselves online. Kudo's to GWE!

Would be nice if a sticky had a preset of a list to start a journal,i.e :

Nutes :
Lights & Wattage :
Techniques (FIM,Top,Lst,None,MF/ML) :

I saw a thread somewhere that was kinda like this in GWE and it just makes it easier for the knower to reply,the reader to relate and gives a better image of what the OP is working on(even to me every time i go through my own stuff,cataloging)

Maybe just my nature,...I am not too keen on anything that is too competitive. Junior member doesn't say much, so II would go for something that might list the number of grows. And not judging how "successful" they were, considering that might be hard to gauge. Just keep it simple, and helpful for those who are new to the forum please. 😊🌻🌱

I do like seeing the join date and the post count. Maybe do away with the junior member and the red bars. The date and post count says it all as far as how active a member is.

In place of the junior member and the red bars could be a place for each poster to fill in as they please. examples: "Twenty year soil grower", "first time DWE grower", "Looking to learn" , "second coco grow underway". It would have to be an honor system thing. If someone wants to brag that they are more experienced than they really are, then so be it. Just give us X number of characters to give our growing experience a very brief description.

I'm digging this option, because it gives growers the freedom to have what they feel fitting on there, and it wouldn't intimidate new growers, I'd say.. seems very easy going and simple! I like it!

I think it's getting out of the point of the junior member question.....It has to be posts made for a count, and that would change the junior to something better ( I like the progression of growing some BUD! )

I do like the ideas of a newcomer like me, have a title for that, another for first grow. Also knowing what type of growing medium current and past would be cool.

What I really like is how welcoming this forum has become. I do like Harvester but let's keep the gatekeepers in mind. They have to maintain this site. 😂

Use adjectives based on participation and a noun for seniority.

Could set up an achievements sort of thing for reaching milestones for doing something a certain number of times. number of posts, number of likes, number of uploaded photos, number of subscribers, membership duration, etc. There could even be multiple levels for the same category eg lvl 5 poster.
Each achievement comes with a cool title, then each person can choose one of the titles to be displayed out of the ones they have unlocked

Also there could be the member that are given a special title for helping and that could be a button next to the like,i mean we can simply like something because its true or for some other reason,but a helpful button,like a thanks,that relates to a counter and gives a title accordingly is nice!!
