Hi Tika , I really enjoyed reading the link, thanks for posting.....do you think this could be a form of polyploidism(?)brought on by the intensity of LED's?.......they look cool anyway lol:D
 
This is all I could find :)........:When an organism has two homologous sets of chromosomes. It is usually due to abnormal cell division.: :)
 
I was reading that this morning! I've never seen that before.

I'd call them something different like White Caps, Snow Peaks, Icing, IDK something different than White Tops lol.
 
Pardon my intrusion first hand, it seems to be light bleaching on the tips of the buds, gwe has almost identical picture from led grow plants showing the high light intensity actually bleached the tips of the newly forming buds, just my 2 cents. Happy growing tika!
 
Indeed....but louping it..one sees a different structure than normal bud. No matter either way...it is the absence of chlorophyll ..and
...pretty.
No intrusion whatsoever...the more the better

I know huh? White caps seem natural.
I have them under LEDs since I started to grow with leds...scared me at first!
 
A: not all buds do that on any one p,ant
B: that's so gonna not happen
C: I love my LEDs no matter what!
 
It could happen.... (in whosoever voice used that phrase, I can't remember.)

What's funny is that because it only apparently happens with LED's and anything higher THC, that looks cool, and best of all is rare commands higher prices, LED's could see a surge of interest. No not everyone switching but an increased interest at least. I'm really happy with my little GH600 but to make those I'd look more closely at top end LED's

And I love mine too, and stop stomping on my funny :)
 
I thought it was possibly bleaching as well, until i looked closer and could not find any obvious chlorosis or any plant matter except trichs. They definitely appear to be more dense at the top. Explaining why LEDS do this is hard, they dont offer any real light quality advantage over HPS. The most likely reason for me would be the LED'S optics which allow more vertical uniformity and penetration... This could allow the plant to develop more efficiently and rely less on nutrient translocation. If the plant does not have to move nutrients as much, the tops may be receiving such a high level of energy and developing at a faster rate compared to the rest of the plant due to the slight advantage of more light.
 
Working on that concept...:) The image Leafly put out clearly showed a different "construction". Than the bud.
