What is your biggest question about growing cannabis?

I found out the hard way, had 4 cfl's per light socket, 16 bulbs, 4 lamps total. my room went from a casual 72 degrees and jumped it up so hot (before I had my thermometer) I had to turn on the ceiling fan to high to circulate the air out the door and window. That's when I switched to my shop light t8's!!! BIG DIFFERENCE!!! And I run 4 setups, room does not get anywhere near 80 degrees and humidity is a constant 45%, sweet spot!!!

Hey chck my grow 2 journal. I built a ghetto AC from a fan, ice packs and hose

is there any possible way for me to isolate one plant ( have concerns it may be turning into a hermaphrodit) that is in the same tent with a female plant without anything happening to it. i want to keep the plant growing im just trying to play it safe in case it is turning into a hermaphrodit. i just don’t have the room to grow the plant separately.

1) cover with a plastic garbage bag. 2) get it away from your lady. 3) get rid of it as hermaphrodite plants are NO GOOD!!! Don't waste your time on them, trust me, I had 4 that turned on me and isn't worth the trouble to continue, terminate. Be done with it.

Hello okay my question is can a female plant grow pollen sacs and fall off and stay female I grew banana glue from regular seed she grew 2 pollen sacs they dried up and fell off now no new pollen sacs for weeks what do you think

Welcome to GWE, it is still female and still a hermie, may have a few (S1) feminized seeds (that carry a hermie gene).

I am a brand new grower and I have a question.. I know how to germinate the seeds. But I do not know how to get the plant to grow under a grow light. Do I keep the light on 24/7 ? Do I let it sit in the sun lit window and let nature provide light on her cycle? Do I put it into a grow tent until I transplant outside? I need advice.

Hi Mertle all you need to learn is either here on the tutorials. And lots of google tips. Welcome to the grow forum. Read up and gather your growing stuff come on back make a new post start a thread of your own we will follow up with the questions. If you can grow a garden outside you can grow a weed plant :) Indoors is a whole different long story.

it is very simple. 1) germinate seed and once it is ready to plant, plant it in a plastic clear cup (plastic drinking cup) and drill 3 or 4 on the bottom for drainage. This way you can see the roots grow. Within a weeks time or sooner you will be ready to plant into a 1 gallon pot until it outgrows it, then move up to a 3 or 5 gallon (for indoor a 5 gallon pot does really good) pot for the remainder of it growing life (the season depending on what you are growing). This is how I do it and I grow indoors, have had very good success. Depending on where you live and weather, you have to make that decision. I use a small bedroom for my plants. Go to my posts and you can see what my results were as pictures say 1000 words... If you decide on a tent, no need to go outdoors. If your outdoors situation that would thrive, again that is up to you. Sun or PG&E bill. you have no control on outdoor light thus are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Indoors, you can complete a full grow in 5 months minimum indoors using the correct setup. Also depending on the type of light used, heat has to be considered thus regulating the distance from the tops of your plants so they don't burn. I use t8 tubes so I am able to keep my light 3 inches from the tops as they run very cool. So where you going? indoors ort outdoors? I can only recommend that IF you want to do both, you got to acclimate your plants to the switch, I would do it on a nice semi early morning and leave them for the day so they can get acclimated. Keep an eye on them.18/6 hr cycle for vegging, then 12/12 for flowering at the end of 8 weeks of vegging, that is transition to flower time. Transition takes about 1 week, then another 8-10 (10-12) weeks in flower (depending again what you are growing; Indica is faster, Sativa takes 2-4 weeks longer depending on it's particular strain) to harvest time.

My worst problem is the maturity of bud trichomes. I can get a fairly healthy plant to get far into flower stage but the trichomes do not go beyond what appears to be white clear to slightly milky trichomes but all pistoles are amber orange. Each attempt so far this happens and as they get more less healthy it becomes a problem because they pretty much are ready to die off. I do get flies or spider mites but managed to keep under control this time. The problem is we need photosynthesis and for this the plants needs it leaves still in order for trichomes to fully mature? I understand I ideally need 30% trichomes amber. I have never managed one single amber trichome even. Tried different strains so that cannot be it either. I think I keep missing this each time because of that and the leaves are almost all gone now even the sugar leaves are mostly gone. I need some in depth help and advise for this so should probably start a dedicated thread on this. Since about 3 weeks now the buds no longer smell good even now, barely at all. I think this is a failure so will need all the advice I can get to make this work next time before I finally give up on this. Everything else is fine, the yield is also good. I feel like not going off the trichomes at all but just appearance of pistoles and aroma of buds because that seems like a better indicator really, i know everywhere says trichomes are the only sure way but I have never seen one single amber one ever.

I struggled a few attempts with this. What I found works best is to use 4 kitchen roll sheets and place the seeds inside of two each side, spray them wet so they are misted but not soaking, place these inside a ziplock bag and maybe leave one third open to vent some airflow inside or to allow warm air to escape out.. Then place bag of seeds onto a heated propagation dome or heat mat and you do not need to place the lid ontop, just the bag. No light is necessary at first either. Check each day to ensure moisture is maintained and once tap roots are there plant after a day or so. 2 - 5 days and should be ready to plant. optional: you can use 3% hydrogen peroxide to cleanse seeds and soften shell, drop seeds into small cup for 3-8 hours and leave in darkness then rinse off and do the above.

CannaDragon I have had autos that did not go amber. I have also seen cheap lenses that dont produce good color and therefor you cant see the amber.
We need input, Lights, temps, RH, etc..

Thanks. Nutes and Ph. is fine as is temp and RH, lighting not as good as it could be but sufficient and on 24/0 for autos. I use a mobile camera and get get close up to the trichomes that show they are milky with some still clear. Maybe should just use an optic lense instead.

How long would you say maximum time period from seed to harvest for all autos? A rough window? I think until I master the sweetspot for harvest I will stick with autos.

I don't grow autos, but I have seeds from Night Owl and one day yes.

If an auto is reluctant to finish, does it help to change the light schedule to 12/12 ?

Autos can run as short as 45 days from sprout to harvest or more than 130 days, it's all in her genes. So you cant give a time line for all autos, only a strain/hybrid. I have also heard of an auto that does not start flowering at 3-5 weeks (as most do) but vegges longer, then flowers.
Also you might try giving a 4 hour dark cycle, many will tell you they do need their beauty sleep, and it may help ripen those trics.

Budmarsh- if you’re still here,
I am new at this growing thing. My first harvest was from seeds of unknown origin given to me by family who said, “It’s good weed”.It wasn’t- unless that’s what passes for ‘good’ to them. Anyway, my plants grew like, well, a weed but were worthless potent wise.
My second harvest was from seeds that somehow slipped in at the dispensary and
we’re from ‘Trinidad-Blue Dream’. The best plant grew to about 7 feet tall and looked like someone had literally sprinkled sugar all over it- everything was covered in Trichomes. It very good smoke and I’m very (very) new to growing.
I said all that to say this, all I used was a simple 50/50 of potting soil and peat moss. I also added Miracle Grow fertilizer every 4-6 weeks until about 10 days from harvest. It may seem too simplistic to be true but that was as good of pot as we and others around
us have ever smoked- some in 40 years of toking. Im very inexperienced but why change something simple that works extremely well.
I did the same thing this year and they look amazing at 5-6 weeks. I’m even gonna try manifolding with one or two plants this year (2021).
