Tika’sGarden of Earthly Delights

Andddddd: window Pea Shoots( not sprouts) by Botanical Interests...great taste, high anti oxidants, raw or cooked...and very rewarding to grow...about 10 days start to finish.

Name: Pisum sativum

Days to Maturity: 10–20 days

Family: Fabaceae

Native: Western Asia, Europe, and North Africa

Hardiness: Frost-tolerant annual

Variety Information: Young, tender leaves and tendrils harvested at 3"–4" tall. Almost any type of garden pea can be grown for its young shoots. According to Japanese research, raw pea shoots contain high amounts of vitamins A, C, E, K, and B-6. In addition, they add fiber and contain carotenes, pigments that are high in antioxidants which have a role in protecting cells from damage. Researchers are also studying the phytochemicals found in pea shoots and think they may have a role in preventing cancer.

Harvesting: When seedlings emerge, the first pair of leaves to show are the cotyledons, which can look very different from the leaves that follow, called "true" leaves. Pea for Shoots baby greens are ready to harvest 10 to 20 days after sowing, when they have true leaves, at 2"–4". Slow growers, or cool growing temperatures may require more time. Harvest by cutting just above the soil line. For more than one harvest (up to 3 before flavor declines) leave about 1/2" of leafy growth on the small plants so they can regenerate.

😂🤣😜 that cobble is the beloved that pounces my garlic cloves and ergonomically removes the skin from the clove! Fits into the Palm of my hand perfectly. And was free🙃 personally selected from Montana de Oro 7 minutes from my house

Want me to find you one...without 🦵?

I start looking to sex my plants starting around week four from emergence. Some males may start showing themselves then or even a little earlier. But I've had males that didn't show anything until the 5-6th weeks. I've grown regular seeds now for about the last 4 grows so am able to sex my plants pretty early and if you have enough of them and trash a female or two its not a great loss. Better than getting a hermie later which I bet would be a PITA if you were doing a SOG grow type setup. Thats basically my biggest hurdle using regular seeds.....not training them until I can sex them_ I don't have enough room to have that many planters going at once and train plants as well. Which kinda messed up my canopy control this time around because some males didn't show until week 6. Its alright though cuz I'm gonna get more product than anticipated anyway. Good luck with the regular seeds and training schedule_ hope it all works itself out!

If those purple moby dick plants are super to be huge I'd try them outside in 10 gallon pots or even larger_ if your space can handle a few "tree-like" plants.
I visited an outdoor farm this last October and some of those plants were huge! Most over 8' tall and 6' across. They were in the ground itself or in 20-100 gallon smart pots. Very impressive and were expected to yield at least a few kilos of tried bud. Most were high CBD strains as well.
And no freaking way! you have the same plastic matts under your planters that I do! Got them at Home depo for cheap... :~)

Yesssss homedepot !
Yes..plan on PMD to be outside after germ and inside a for veg then punt outside. Gotta figure out what size smart pot my wagons will handle I’ll go that big.
Regarding reg seeds...i put at least 32
seeds and got 5 I believe to be true females.
The issue with my seeds seems to be more herms than straight males.
If I had straight males...I might compulsively try to breed my own strain a time or two...(thinking out loud).
And yes again..I want to see sex before I start working the plant after topping and one transplant.

All for the love of the process is it not? Problem is that that love out grows the available space!
Thank you ZigZag for your company🤓🤗🤓

LurkingInTheGrass You can and I do take clones when I top , when I'm setting up for the outside grow I start seeds then top them ,grow those tops out and clone them .I keep doing this until I have enough plants , This year I'm not doing that I'm starting seeds from a seeded grow last year

That's very interesting about the amount of hermits you get from seed...I seem to have the same experience...last grow I had 3 hermits out of 10 seeds, two males and 5 females. This time I only got one hermit out of 15 seeds. But I've only had one two hermits ever using feminized seeds ever since I started. I'm glad to hear you don't try to train before transplant to final container. That's one of the things that I find frustrating with regular seed but the challenge and the strains are why I do it.
Good to hear you've got some ladies for sure...now comes the rest of em!

I love the sticks as night lights🥴 thank you both. And actually @Canuck147...I am actually an artist....PM Ing you about that.
@alltatup...always delighted to hear from you🤗🤓🤗

Tika_I showed my wife the topical you made and now she has told a few of her friends and now they all want me to make them some! Look what you've gotten me into!
I have a bunch of high CBD flower (about 7%THC/ !%%CBD) from my last grow so i'm going to make a strong condensed and filtered tincture with that and try using it to get things started. If I can pull it off everyone will be happy I'll be the hero..HA!. Who knows until you try? Thank you as always :~)

OldJarhead100_ So that's how you get a bunch of clones from one mother....I think I'm going to try taking a few clones from one of the plants I have going now which is in full flower so I'm wondering where the best place to take a few branches from would be? There are some smaller branches with a few leaf sets and only tiny little bud sites, might they be worth taking a chance on? Or would it be better to wait until I harvest the top 2/3rds of this plant and hope I can get it to re-veg,,, then if that works I could take some clones when she's recovered in full veg mode. This plant is awesome...huge dense colas that are now pretty frosty but in a few weeks should be snowy! I'd like to keep those genes working for another generation...at least!

OK, I guess I should proof before i post.
That's 7% THC/ 15% CBD.....might be a good strain to start with for topicals?

@ZigZag...ya know there are beneficial in thc also. I can’t grow high cod or I’d be dead in the fish pond. Most folk I gift a salve or oil wish a miracle message and I tell them: it’s not a miracle..it’s like Motrin for pain and inflammation...you have to use the product to find the level that works. A little dab will do ya just isn’t so. Goes back to wearing plastic gloves so pillow cases don’t get trashed and the issue of repetition plus....using up a lot of cannabis...
You can hear me going batshit right? Pretty lotions with a bar code doesn’t mean it works...
I would really like for a commercial tester in my area to determine what bud...how much of that bud...decarbedb would equal high effective . Not yet. InDO know-fact checked- having RA and OsteoArthritus in both hands I can wear rings I’ve not worn in years - after I process..
Did the blab again....🙄
