The Great Auto Showdown

Looking good LTC just a heads up in coco if you dont water to runoff salts build up and lockout the plants, I feed 4 times a day and every other week I run plain water for a few minutes

Hey oldjarhead100 thanks for letting me know that. Right now I am watering twice per day -- once is plain ph water and the other is nute water. Sounds like I'm doing it wrong 😅

Honestly I'm a bit slow at times and dont really understand the concept of watering until run off. Do I need to put something under each pot so it's slightly above ground and add some type of liner to my tent? And then I would just keep watering until say 30% comes out the bottom and then siphon or otherwise remove all run off water from tray?

Hey ocgreen yes I put elevator under pots and use those plastic rings for collecting run off saves your floor. You can get them at any plant section in the states there cheap under a buck. I mix my soil with coco coir so not seeing salts but OJ knows his coco :)

Good day fellow growers. Candy Kush here at day 54. Got some white stuff happening on some of the leaves.

Anyone know what it could be? I do.

Had to defol a ton yesterday. Where they’re at was like a giant yellow light going off for the water or electric guy to see them, 10-12’ yellow leaves! I only check them every 2 weeks. My last grapefruit is taking her sweet time, but healthy. Both the glues are doing really good. You can see the size of the colas compared to my arm on one of them. I friggin split the stem on Bertha. When you’re only 4’10” tall in a wheelchair and trying to defol a 8’ plant the branches only bend so much....lol. You’ll have to appreciate the picture I took while looking up at her. I went to the house and grabbed mom and tape and had her fix it tho. She’ll recover just fine. If I had to guess I’d have to say Bertha will produce 11+oz dry, glue #2 will be about 9+, and who the hell knows about my last grapefruit. I’m hoping for more out of each, but time will tell. I had minimal bud rot on one and was able to rip those buds off and toss. They were small nugs anyway. The rest of y’alls girls are looking good too. I’m hoping a really good fall harvest.
🙏🏼✌🏻

SoOrbudgal implied I did it - which I did. Sprayed with milk and water (1 part milk/9 parts water) to prevent WPM. And it works.

Sorry for the name mix up Ocgreen ,I use a auto watering system now but when I watered by hand I treated it like dirt and watered every few days when it needed it ,then flush once a month ,although I feel the watering 4 times a day has really made a difference in size and quality and setting up the auto system was easy ,
Watering to run off does require plant trays and risers in the trays ,Htgsuply.com was the cheapest Ive found they were like under 3 bucks a couple of well placed bricks works well to , I bought a small wet vac and suck the water out until I set up my auto drain if you want directions for building either one let me know just to much stuff to write if not interested lol

where did you come up with that ,and do you spray on a regular interval ,Im assuming you spray right up till harvest ,this is good news Canuck I've been using grow safe for wpm just doesnt cut it .I'm in the process of pulling all the squash and any other plants that have wpm on them from around the GH ,with as much air blowing thru the gh you woudl'nt think it would be a problem .Now that is whole milk not the weak ass one or two percent right lol

They are looking great nice size buds for the time in bloom . Retodd I have found that if you get bud rot its best to cut the stem below the rot then cut the good bud off and use it damn shame

1% milk OJH - got the idea from GWE - I've only sprayed twice - third spray in an hour or so. Have to do it cuz of the stupid weather, more rain coming so have to stay on top of it. Seems to be working.

Hey oldjarhead100 np and thanks for offering to provide more details. I took your advice and ordered a bunch of 13" plant risers for a few bucks each and some saucers at dollar store. And then I was out with my son at hardware store and was really happy to find a 15 gal 6hp shop vac with stainless steel tub for only $90 CDN. Never occurred to me but this will also be really helpful when I need to empty a DWC tote with multiple plants. Works great and I'm happy with price

Will let you know if I need more info on that auto system. Sounds like something I should pursue at some point but too many things on to do list already to look at it right now. Thanks again

Thanks 😊 I ended up grabbing some elevators, saucers and a shop vac for about a hundred bucks Canadian. Not sure I totally understand how much to water and when but I'm getting closer and plan to do some more reading tonight
