they do look amazing well done ,curious what are the dowels for I thought they were like a trellis system but then I saw the string from the ceiling
 
Juicy your plants look great ,I have found that if I wait until the node where I want to top has new growth tips at least a half inch long then it doesn't slow the plant down
 
Yes I'm medically retired. But I love plants and animals. So went into farming. First crops to help feed the needy. Now hemp to make cbd products and for biomass. Plus for every acre we farm we get paid by FedEx to help offset their carbon footprint. So it's a sweet thing to do.
 
Thanks next year we will have 22 acres growing there along with 3 greenhouse. We will have 55 acres a bit closer. And we will have a 5 acre indoor setup right down the street from me. I'm taking the inside grow.

We are working on getting the investors to help fund another member here in cbd/hemp farming. They have the land just need the start up costs. We are trying really hard to make that happen. It is a different state and is a bit far for our crew to go set it up which will add to the money needed. But I'm trying. If not he can always come down here and work one of the 5 farms we will have next year.

If anyone is looking for a job and lives in the south in the MS, AR, TN area pm me and maybe we can get you working in your dream job.
 
very interesting do you flush for 2 weeks and this gives them enough time to fill out, very interesting great idea, I lolly popped the plants in the GH for air circulation
 
Yes, the main stem (which has been topped) is bent to as close to 90 degrees I can get it. Is that the right approach?
 
If you trim with a bud spinner it will trim your buds as tite as you want but why they look great ,Unless you sell pot you want nice tight buds but I dont sell it and I like leaving a few more sugar leafs on
 
Hey Colombo thanks for the encouragement. I know I will get better in time -- already know a lot more than I did when I started from ground zero in February of this year.

Juicyj89 thanks man. Same here -- my first grow went really well. My 2nd grow turned out to be a stunted mess. The BlackBerry and Grapefruit is my 3rd grow.

Spidermite really appreciate you putting together such good info. I didn't realize I was anywhere close to flush. I actually just gave them a fresh reservoir with mid bloom level nutes. Can't remember when I started these guys so I will need to look at trichomes and start defoliating like you say.
 
I will be using that technique for my next grow. I am a bit confused about it, though. Do I still prune off suckers, or do I leave ALL growth (well, except the fan leaves obviously)?
 
Yes I flush for 2 to 3 weeks. Most plants add the most weight to the buds the last 2 weeks. So not only do I open up every bud to light, the air also circulates alot better. Seems to make them get very very dense.

Again I started this heavy defoliating to prevent mold and bud rot. But I didn't want to lose all the potential of the plant. So I waited for the leaves to get covered in trichomes and the popcorn buds to start changing to cloudy and amber. Thus I get no bud rot and get more product in the end. If I have a plant that's buds get too big early I defoliate the top of the plant down to the bottom of the colas and then let the bottom mature a bit more. But I have 4 fans below the plants and 2 above now so not much chance of bud rot on popcorn buds. Lol
 
Sounds like you're living the dream Spidermite. My wife and I plan to sell our home in the city when mortgage is up in 2 years and go buy a chunk of land in the country; get a similar setup going. Goodbye corporate world and hello sunshine! Hope the greenhouse setup goes smoothly.
 
Well even with the greenhouse not completely buttoned up it withstood the 75mph winds we had from the tropical depression that hit here. I'm just curious to see how hard the blackout cover is to put on a greenhouse that big.
 
I'm a bit short to reach the top of the tent easily. So I put yoyos on the dowels and then put them all up at once. Makes it easy to keep the buds where you want them.
