The Great Auto Showdown

😮😮 I didn’t know you were growing ST too @primo!! Jeez these thing don’t get very big do they? Day 34. You should be flowering soon right??

So PRIMO can you help me understand something? I’m assuming you’re saying yours will take longer because of your training? And if that’s the case, I thought autos flowered no matter what. Like even if you’re training. That’s why I thought people always said to train early if you’re going to. I feel so confused. Please help clarify if you can. Also, are you just defoling and lsting yours? Because I def want to defol I just didn’t know with the autos. Thanks man.

PRIMO @Juicyj89

I have grown nothing but autos. In my experience, the more you do to them (training, topping, mainlining, double mainlining), the longer they take to get to flower. In my grow I'm currently trying to finish up, the double mainlined gorilla glue auto took over 45 days to show signs of flowering. The Gorilla Glue auto#4 that was single mainlined showed flowering way earlier on.

In my earlier grows where I did less training, some showed flowering as early as day 21.

Again, this is just my experience, but the results seem to be consistent. I'm sure genetics play a factor too.

Now THATS a trim! Lol. I’ve been doing everything I can to keep mine in veg while training, but Jr is starting to flower on both her two mains. My training methods are used for photos, but thought I’d try it on my autos. I’m gonna do more trimming today too. They are pretty PRIMO

I wasn't aware of that Mcubed thanks I always just top once because they go into flower so soon I need to trim and tie today so I will try that

Saturday again! Today is day 26 for the Bubba Kush Auto, and she is looking good! She is taking to training wonderfully, but she is a little taller than I would like her to be.

Finally bought an SD card for my camera to take real timelapses, but I can't get the video to load on here. I'll go back to the way I did timelapses in the future, but it's cool for me to watch I guess lol.

She's looking pretty dark green, possibly too much N, so I will cut back just a bit on the nutes. Other than that she looks healthy and strong.

Using:
1.5 tsp of silica Blast 1 tsp of CalMag
1/2 tsp of Megacrop
1/4 tsp sweet candy

And here's a pic of the whole tent. That gorilla glue is coming down Monday whether it wants to or not lol

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Headbanger at 44 days, in preflower, can you pick which top is the main?
White Widow at 43 days, now getting UVB at 1 hour times, will be increased.
White Moscow (the freak) at 43 days
Himalaya Blue Diesel at 13 days
Snowryder at 11 days
The Sweet Tooth died at just a few hours old, the second seed has not yet sprouted, fingers crossed, and a new warming pad is now in use.
I ask before why these plants are growing limbs like crazy, nobody responded, so I will answer my own question. It is because of the light arrangement. I start them with 4 (28w) CFLs above them not 1, so they get light from all sides (look at the Himalaya Blue Diesel pic 4). I also cover the bottom 3-4" of the plants once tall unuf to make more roots (limbs can/will be underground). The White Moscow had no center, with twin tops she has been pulled out and the flat area covered, again to grow more roots.
And the clone, can you say bug damage? (bug not found) Plan for it now is to put it in another area, spray it with colloidal silver and make some female Headbanger seed!

I put the cages around them because I was afraid the home made bags would split, they certainly come in handy! The ties are solid copper 12 awg thhn, bends easily, and just as easy to straighten back out, oh it was a drop out of the recycle bin,,,

Had a little scare with the girls but I think things are turning around. No longer using 400w MH but 192w t5. Just too much heat otherwise. I’d like to try to still use the 400w HPS for when flowering sets in but only if I can control temps. Guess we’ll see. Ugh. Poo. Oh well, they’re still alive. Day 28.

Picture order: pic 1 from last Saturday, pic 2 midweek Wednesday, pic 3 today, pic 4....well it’s pic 4
