I'm using everything on that chart and plant magic cal-mag....I didnt know canna did a cal-mag but have just seen it a hydro shop....I will probably get the canna version to keep the same😀

I'm actually in Santa Monica, just on the Venice border, just west of Lincoln :)

I can't imagine what you'd have to "do in kind" to get a $50 room in Brentwood these days!

I tend to add CalMag 1 in 3 feedings, basically because I filter my water.

Yes it's a little tough to get used to, it all pivots around getting the right week to add the P/K I think.

My guess'timate for autos is:

Start/Rooting (week 1)
Vegetative I (week 2) -- plant develops
Vegetative II (week 3 & 4) -- veg stagnation to early flower
Generative I (week 5 & 6) -- flowering stretch and fruit growth
Generative II (week 7 ) -- flower breadth
Generative III (week 8) -- flower weight
Generative IV (week 9) -- flower ripening

But that's totally out of my arse. Hopefully we can apply the hive mind to refining it :)

BTB, i have one of the Roleadro COBs and i liked it so much (and by i i mean my seedlings ;) ) that i bought another one cuz they're only $100 on the big bookseller right now... i'm really looking forward to seeing what the adding both can do together with my viparspectra 300....

I did the same solo cup trick thanks to you Beach_Town_Brit worked pretty well! Everything looks good! You will get the hang of it and once you do it will be like an assembly line flowing smoothly!

Thanks NA420 I think I'll cut the cups out next time rather than tearing. It's my first time using that technique but it made for a very smooth process for me so I'm goig to keep it.

Yes they took a little tugging to tear but wasn't that bad. This was my last time using solo cups anyway, im on my 6th grow and have gained enough experience to be confident enough to plant straight into the medium after germinating in a rapid rooter. The solo cups have helped tremendously and i would reccomend it to every first timer!

Got antsy and got another Blue Mystic (#2) seed going. I needed to soak and germ some freebies to give to a friend for her first grow so I thought I'd do my third auto plant at the same time.

As usual I pulled the seeds from the fridge ahead of time so they can warm up a bit at room temp. Then I soak them in Ph'd water. They probably had a 24 hour soak this time and the Mystic 2 seems to have popped (oops)!

Mystic 2 went under my new 2nd generation Roleandro 300W full spectrum LED (145W draw apparently, 60 x 5w 3000k LEDs, double lenses). Long term I plan to use this light to start and veg my auto's before moving them under the P300 + the 90W DormGrow UFO to flower. However, to try this light out and see how it does I plan to use it throughout the entire life cycle of Mystic 2. The light put out by this thing has a lovely look to it, a sort of buttery white.

The 300W Roleandro was set at 25" from the coco. I'm a tad concerned about the 5w chips with double lenses and burn so we'll see what sort of distance works best as this plant develops.

(I also re-sized and compressed all my pics before uploading (120 ppi, 1000 px width, jpeg compression at 60%) as we recently learned that the forum doesn't automatically resize images.)

While I'm here I guess I should do a journal update proper :)

All is going well, got some vigorous growth this week from both plants. This means I didn't mess up the top on Mystic after all and so I went ahead and topped the Bubble at the third node.

2-13-17 DAY 17 Pots still have some water weight (maybe 1/4 of full weight) but I wanted to feed and the top half of the pot was pretty dry. Did full Veg I feed, 7.1ml A+B, 7.6 Rhizo, 9.5 Cannazym, Ph'd to 6.0. I moved the light down to 20" from the canopy. Left runoff in tubs to maintain humidity. 47%/55% 73/81.

2-15-17 DAY 19 Great response to feed and Mystic top so I topped the Bubblicous at the third nodes and stripped the first node. Stripped node 1 from Mystic too. 48%/79% 72/79.

2-16-17 DAY 20 Planted Mystic 2 under Roleandro as above. Fed Veg 1 again, 6.2ph. Pinned down the fan leaves to better expose growth tips. 58%/72% 72/77

Moving forwards I think Day 16 is gonna be my target for topping autos. My plan is inspired by Green75 and Rockman -- props to you both. By topping at the 3rd node and stripping the first node I'm left with 4 growth tips that I hope will be my main 4 stems. I'm new to autos so I didn't have the confidence to strip the fans as Green does, maybe with Mystic 2...

As I've noted before I re-use my coco from grow to grow.
When I cut a plant I leave the pot to dry out thoroughly (a few weeks inside at least), then I pull the stump and main root ball. I shake loose coco and perlite off into my coco storage 5 gal bucket then the rootbal and stump goes into the green recycling/compost bin :) I also sift through the coco in the bucket with my fingers and pull out any clumps of root matter I find. There are still stray roots etc in my medium but it's never created any problems for me. As you can probably tell I do all this in the bath tub!

I've considered this but have also heard after about 2 times the reused coir starts to break down. Let me know how it holds up!

It's sort of a rolling thing. If I reuse the medium from a 3 gal pot, I probably only get 1.5 gallons of medium back. Consequently, I add new coir and perlite mix on occasion. It all goes into the same container and gets blended.

As such I would say any pot I fill with my reused media has some new medium and some reused medium (potentially from several uses).

I haven't noticed any of my media get funky at all. Some of the coir just breaks down into dust but that stuff naturally gets filtered out sinking to the bottom of the 5 gal bucket. If my reused stock ever felt substandard I'd probably just add more new coir and perlite to build it up.

BTB, glad I finally got tuned into your interesting grow operation! Hope the perpetual grow setup keeps you and wife well supplied.😊 You're great with giving so many details...something that I am lacking on my threads. It will be fun to see the results of your training, since we've both have 4 armed babies to work with! 💪

BTB, i have that exact model and my seedlings liked it so much i ordered another while they were still only $100 at the big bookseller in the sky.... your description of the light it puts out is spot on. i *did* get a bit of what i took to be light burn at first (newbie learning) but once i figured out the right distance it was "grow on" (like game on but different)
