Obi-Wan’s Aurora Indica Clone Grow

Tika I don't foliar feed so I haven't looked into their foliar spray...I may change my mind on this in the future but I haven't really seen a need to at this point. The fact that you may be considering it makes me wonder whether or not I should.....I respect you as a grower immensely, and your experience as a grower/contributor here is unparalleled. I say this knowing that this community has; and has had, a number of skilled growers come and go, but you have remained throughout, consistently growing with incredible detail and documentation. I have followed you from a distance from the very beginning of my journey into growing cannabis, chiming in occasionally to appreciate a good thing when I see it. It was your journey with Canna that inspired me to try something new. Thank you for doing what you do everyday and sharing it with the rest of us!!!

A few quick hits from my very limited experience with Dyna....

I am running Dyna-Grow, Dyna Bloom, Protekt, and Mag-Pro. The reason for the switch was my frustration that the flora trio provides most of it's nitrogen in Micro and not Gro.....If they switched the nitrogen that they allocate for each, I may never have strayed from them. Dyna's n-p-k ratios are what first caught my eye as they make it easier for me to dial back the nitrogen while still providing Micro nutrients.

Dyna-Gro nutrients have been in the reservoir for 7 days and I have not yet needed to adjust pH, rock solid at 5.8 where I set them on day 1, I had read about this in my research but I was skeptical. 7 days is a small sample size, so the jury is still out, but good preliminary results.

Protekt acts as an alkaline in the nutrient solution and I added 5mls/gal @ 1.4 EC to give me that 5.8 pH, no pH up or down in the 7 days.

Day 77 overall
Day 48 of 12/12

The colas are starting to put on weight so I had to break out the plant yo-yo’s for support. I’m really digging these Dyna-Gro nutrients, I haven’t needed to adjust pH in 2 weeks.

EC/PPM=1.4/700
pH=5.8

Aurora Indica fem seeds/ plants....a real pleaser I must say.

Day 56 of 12/12

Pistils are starting to turn brown and curl up, no issues to speak of just a waiting game at this point.

Great looking colas! You are going to be havin sum fun!!!! A remarkable grow indeed. Bravo and heart felt 🎉🥃🍾cheers when you bring it down.

Harvest was yesterday, sorry I don’t have better pictures but the yield left much to be desired!!! When all is said and dried, I’ll be lucky to get 120 grams off the 2 plants. I have wonderful 6-8” tops that are dense and desirable, but everything underneath is airy fluff, bound for edibles!!

This is my last run with the LEDs, I’ve installed the 400w hid in my 2x4 and put the 315 CMH in my 3x3. I’m contemplating going 400w god in both, short money for proven results.

I use a 300w GalaxyHydro and a 300w Viparspectra. The total actual draw is 270w, I am aware I could get better results with better LEDs, the comment wasn’t meant as an insult to LEDs, I’m just personally getting better results with the other lights. By switching to the 315 CMH to go along with the 400w HID, both of which I already own, my consumption only goes up 45w and I incur $0 upfront cost.

Ya know....
opinions on when to start the flower day count vary: some say from pistils-pre flower., some from early bloom, some say from flip.
Also...if the strain is going to be Larfy ( assuming you do your home work) there isn’t much you can do about it? My outdoor BlueCheese was skinny and so embarrassingly larfy I just hung her sticks to dry-pissed. Turned out to be a fully loaded BlueCheese high no mater what she looked like. So we have our visual standards according to Bud Vogue but then there is the FACT
point: smoke it then critique- you may be surprised.

PS I rarely allow amber especially in Indicas....I think the cure solves it all.
just sayin

They flowered for 53 days, I took them about 7-10 days early and about 80/20 cloudy/clear trichomes. I could have let them go longer but the bud density wouldn’t have improved and I prefer to take them before I see amber.

I agree, the density is more of a reflection of the genetics as apposed to the LEDs. I’m sure the bud will taste and smoke well after a proper dry and cure. Overall it was an easy grow without any issues to speak of, the buds just never got dense. I’m certainly not disappointed as it was a successful harvest, I was just hoping for improvement.
