Humid boveda packs

Hello,first time drying my flowers,grew outside but when i harvested the temp went from average to 95 degrees and single digit humidity,so the flowers dried out really quick,since this is my first time drying and curing i did not have any equiptment to raise the humidity and bring down the temp,i purchased the packs but was reading about mold, so my question is, how long do you keep the packs in the jars, and can they create mold in the jars if left to long,they have been in a week +/- 1 day and the flowers are beginning to see some moisture return, i have also been removing the lids on the jars for a few minutes a day for the curing process,any info is greatly welcome.

I had a similar problem at harvest when the weather got too hot, too dry , too fast. I jarred rapidly with caliber IV s to measure temp and humidity in Jars. First 2 days the humidity read in low 50's BUT after 2 more days the humidity rose to 67 - 70 another freak out! So- I assumed the inner moisture of the bud was absorbed by the exterior of the bud. Then had to unjar-put buds on trays then back into jars til I was at least to 65 . Then aired the jars for a while while burping then closed them up again .now between 61 and 63
Personally I don't use the packs until I am a few 2-3 months down the road when the cure is complete enough for smoking. The packs stabilize but dont add humidity...as far as I understand.
Again my buds re-humidified . The units are 25$ a piece but well worth the price for monitoring your jars.

Thanks for the info,my humidity reading in the jars are holding around 55-60 ,I will continue with the process and see what happens,I will post on the outcome.

The simple way to increase humidity is to add one leaf, from a live healthy plant to the curing jar at night- and remove it the next day.

I use Boveda 62 in my jars. Even buds months old feel great and no problems with mold.

From what I understand that's almost perfect! The website says 62% is ideal, and a commercial grower told me when it comes to curing anything between 55-65% is good!

Love the bovedas. I usually cure for 2 or 3 weeks after dry then leave out for a day or two until they are a little crispy then back into jars but with a pack this time then open jars only as i use them. Bud always feels perfect. Never had any mold because of the packs. I would highly recommend them

I do the same thing as Grower-Aaron_ first dry the buds until very small stems snap or at least crack_ plants with larger colas (about 3-4" diameter and >6"long) hung by their stems, will take at least 5-7 days in a dark room with humidity at 50%, and just a little air movement. My experience anyway. We use the 58% Bovedas for the first 2 weeks of cure to help keep humidity down_ they seem to do a better job of keeping the humidity from getting too high at the start than the 62% packs ...then remove them once humidity stabilizes at 60%. Check every 3-5 days to make sure they aren't getting too dry or damp.
Mold spores and bacteria can get on your buds and into your jars from just about anywhere so if you decide to go with the Boveda packs then make sure that when you buy them the packs are sealed- packed in plastic envelopes , so they are sterile_ Don't buy packs that might be open and sitting on the counter in a bowl or whatever in your local shop...if you have one. We do but I buy them direct to be sure.
