Help, few bagseed grows under belt, now trying to dial in perpetuial

Sanity is important. Especially in the last days before harvest. Trying not to just rip the plant to pieces before she's ready can be tough. Almost there dnktnk!

Thanks Royal Nugs. Here are pics of the widow Im working. Exciting times getting this perpetual off the ground, I was thinking the Jock Horror's would be the prize winners in the tent but Paypaya and white Widow have been impressing me.

Has anyone done or recommend the 24 hours of darkness right before harvesting? or how bout final feedings with blackstrap molasses? Wondering what the real benefits of either method would be vs. not applying them.

I do it all the time. Last two feedings 1 tbls. molasses per gal. 36 hour dark before harvest to increase trichome production. Take a picture of your bud right after you open the tent to see for yourself.

Interesting, since I have two girls of the same strain running and both about finish, I should harvest the first w/o molasses and extended dark period then compare the results after applying the method to the second J.H. Both plants came from seeds so it wouldn't be a perfect controlled experiment, they both looked exactly the same until about halfway through blooming, one stayed green while the other yellowed a shade then two and the buds have slightly different characteristics. Oh, and one appears to be finishing faster than the other... Gonna pull the trigger on it pretty soon so I can get the girls vegging currently into bigger britches and into the bloom space. They have been under 18/6 of ho T5's for 9 weeks now and I had to stop transplanting up sizes as floor space diminished. One is still vigorously healthy but the others have kind of been in decline for the last two weeks almost. Very slight yellowing and drooping on upper parts, a few leaves have developed burnt edges or random small grey/brown spots near edges/finger tips. The plan is to up size and move the healthy one into the bloom space asap then use extra floor room in veg area to up size and nurse the other vegging girls back to health before flipping them. The sysmptoms are so slight I wasn't going to worry about it but seems like a better idea to give them some tlc first.

Looking for opinions... The one widow I have in veg that was struggling somewhat from too small of a pot size, has been transplanted up and is showing obvious signs of recovery. It has perked back up, started growing faster, and the yellow areas are getting their green back. You can still tell by looking at it that it went through a rough patch. What I was wondering is if its okay to switch to 12/12 now or if I should still wait awhile longer for further recovery to take place. Not sure it would get any healthier looking, little bit of haggard-ness should be expected to stay after an issue even once resolved?

I say go for it. If you think you got all the early issues taken care of. Is just much easier to fix any problems before you start flowering. Looks like you are off to a good start.

I flipped the widow, she seems to be thanking me even with the burnt tips on her older growth, new stuff coming in dark green!

Love White Widow and really love Jock horror
indoor grow, coco coir , flora trio for this last grow.

I hear last darkness can hermie the plants..don't know as fact. Consider your flush, how wet when doing so..if it works let me know

I didn't end up doing the molasses and 36 hour dark period before harvest this round, I'm still dialing in a perpetual grow and it just didn't make sense right now, didn't want to take it on currently. Can't just flip the tent light off Bc others are coming thru it. The 2nd round Im running clones of the same strains thou and Im documenting this harvest so I can compare it to the next when I do hope to use molasses/36 hour dark method into harvest.

I've almost got the timing of cycles on lock, currently running Nirvana's Jock Horror and White Widow. I think I need more space thou, it's kinda crammed for spells in both the small T5 veg and 3' x 3' LED bloom tents. I'm only yielding about half of what Id like to be getting. I stopped running Papaya and another pheno of the Jock that weren't yielding as much as the other strains and recently popped Misty Kush and Ice because they're supposedly better yielders. I had one BlackJack seed that I drowned :( I'm still using a mix of fox farms ocean forest and happy frog soil in 3 gallon smart pots that I hand water about every five days or so. Thinking of trying 5 gallons pots. I'm about to order BluMat self watering systems for the tents. That was spurred by an upcoming vacation but I'm looking forward to removing a lot of the hassle of hand water the smart pots, espically because I hand dump the runoff from their trays. That's about where I'm currently at.

That's the Widow! Thanks, she wins the beauty contest and the Jock gets the Taste/Aroma trophy between the two. The latest widow i have is on day 56 and has more purple pushing out than this one in the picture.

BluMat self watering system has been ordered, I'll post here and in the self watering soil thread I previously posted to asking if anyone had used BluMat products. Here are pictures of the widow I just took down at Day 60 and a photo of each tent.
