Happy Birthday Jesus

This is an anecdote about smomthing that struck me silly. Why would you bake a god cake? This is not an evaluation of, or a serious conversation about, religion; so no special approval required. Just a few adults having a laugh. I also do not need permission to think a thing funny, and chorus of 13 singing, happy birthday dear Jesus, to a cake with xmass sprinkles on it, is funny shit. So again no offense but, this, though crazier than fiction, happened to me.

It does say in the Bible, "I have given you all seed bearing plants to use" so cannabis is a seed bearing plant, if you do it wrong, lol, just my 2 cents

You're OK in my book. However your not so serious post generated a number of very serious posts. But thanks to the free wheelin Nebula ALL IS GOOD!

I agree. This thread is A OK in my book. Singing happy birthday to Jesus on Christmas Day is funny, whether one is a believer or not. LOL

Let me add my anecdote to this light hearted thread. As a life long atheist I am expected to attend Christmas mass with my devoted Roman Catholic wife who teaches catechism and is a Eucharistic Minister. At the end of the mass Christmas Eve night the Nigerian priest Father Ujoo (sp?) announced "all of the keeds come up to the altar" in his heavy Nigerian accent. He then held aloft a cupcake with a single candle burning, and in unison all sang Happy Birthday Jesus. Afterwards all of the kids were given small cupcakes to smear on their Sunday best. I kid you not.

I think anyway that we acknowledge Him would be a sweet smelling aroma in His sight, who cares what anybody else thinks.. It's all about Him!!! That's if you're a believer, but if you're not then I can see that something like this might seem ridiculous. Then again who cares what people think...

And I'll bet your wife never threatens you with hellfire and damnation!!!! Salvation is in the heart--not what we profess in public. Even Jesus preferred praying in private to making a big show in the synagogue.

Now we know that Marie Antoinette liked cake, but what did Jesus think of cake? He had the loaves, the fishes and the wine, but he never said Cast the net on the dough or I will make you bakers of men...

You can't support this biblically but Legend has it that the queen of Ethiopia heard of King Solomon of Israel and all his wisdom and riches. King Solomon asked her if he could give her anything up to half his kingdom and she asked if he would impregnate her,he did it was a boy and became king of Ethiopia. When he died at his tomb an mysterious plant grow which was Cannabis. Rastafarians see smoking as a form of worship and a religious experience.

And I agree in a sense: if you have the right kind of love and spirit in your heart, why label it? Just DO it. What I could never embrace is the notion of a god who would exclude wonderful people because they are from the other side of the planet, or put a different name on how they practice love and kindness. To me, you either do or you don't: I really don't care what label folks slap on themselves, because their actions will reveal who they really are...

They smeared cupcakes on their clothes? This happened in a church service? That is too funny. OMG we'd have been kicked out of the church had we done that. I love it!!!
