Happy Birthday Jesus

for sure I am....private school kid till 8th grade....Lutheran

at the end of eighth grade they said it was time to be confirmed...like they were going to make me ......like I had no choice but to become a member of the Lutheran society.....so I went to my mother and asked her if they could refuse graduation from eighth grade if I did not get confirmed.....she said no and asked why...I told her that I thought I was to young to make that decision and did not feel like they should try and make me get confirmed....she was devastated....but she reluctantly full hearted agreed with me and let me stand my ground......it became a big ordeal...first kid ever to refuse confirmation ......and I did it just because they told me I had to............

I am a Christian !!! but that's between me and God......

I think we could have a very civil and intellectual discussion here as long as no one bashing another for their beliefs........but maybe Nebula would not approve.

I'm going to go ahead and say what's on my mind. Nebula will probably delete the entire thread if she disapproves.

I was brought up fundamental Born Again Baptist. I did not go to private school so that is a big difference. But in our church, we were expected to come forward, as the invitation went out every Sunday, and accept Jesus into our hearts. Myself and two boys my age, decided to go up together one Sunday, I thing we were about 14. It made our parents happy, but its not the way its supposed to be. To this very day, I am conflicted about this situation. I honestly do believe the whole story about Christ dying on the cross for our sins and rising again. But I do not live a day in and day out Christian lifestyle. So I don't know where I stand in His book.
