Wait, I'm a little confused The plants are in Yates Potting Mix with Dynamic Lifter right now, and it has wood chips in it? From the chat specialist and all the pictures and videos of that soil, it shouldn't have wood chips in it. Or did you mean that it is your new soil?

Yes to the first question. 100% sure its in Yates Potting Mix with Dynamic Lifter right now. I have no idea why there'd be wood chips if there isn't supposed to be any... could i still get away with sifting out the wood chips and re potting them?

Distilled water should be neutral ph, the exposure to air causes the ph to read a bit lower than 7.

Lower or higher?
Dioxygen(O2) oxidize water according to this equation
O2 + 2 H2O + 4 e[SUP]-[/SUP] -> 4OH[SUP]-[/SUP]

So basically existence of dioxygen in the water should raise the pH because it produces Hydroxide ion and reduce the Power of Hydrogen ion.

Am i wrong?

It's reaction to co2, not oxygen that causes the ph to drop slightly. Carbonic acid begins to form due to co2 dissolving in the water as soon as the water is exposed to air.

If bark is 60% of the composition I don't think sifting is going to be enough. Hmmm, I wonder if they accidentally packaged it with the wrong formulation? It's so strange I even went and confirmed with them on chat that it shouldn't have bark! Could you go to the store where you got this and ask them if they have a version of this soil without bark? I'm sorry you're having so much trouble I wish it was easier/cheaper to ship from the USA!

Alrighty Ill go back and have a chat with them/ get another bag. Dynamic lifter is still alright for the plants just without bark?
