Ha ha, no not at all, alltatup. Don't get me wrong mate. I don't like plastic at all and try to keep it out of my life as much as possible. But I think that any toxins attached to my bud, from being in a plastic jar for a while, must be so minuscule, compared to all the many many other sources in life, that for all intents and purposes they don't exist, in a relative/scientific sense.
You'd totally laugh if you saw my lifestyle and the context I'm speaking from. I live way up in north in the bush, in a cabin, like a Neanderthal, hunt, fish, gather and grow most of my food, and generally live as close to the earth as I possibly can.
I prefer glass jars and metal canisters for curing. They make up 95% of my curing jar collection. The plastic ones are mostly for overflow when I run out of out of large containers. They are left over from something or other. They're here, they work well, they never break, and so I use them.
Another option is to send them to the garbage dump. In this place 'recycling' plastic means shipping it 1000 miles south of here to melt it down.
It's about finding a practical balance. I much prefer non-plastic but it's a spiritual choice more than a health concern. So if someone asked me if food grade plastic containers are ok- I would say they are fine.
I just meant... what I said the first time.
Not what you said it 'seems' like I might be saying.
