Glass or plastic?

Potted

Guest
Hi all, just wanted to ask why do we cure in glass and not in plastic jars? Mason jars have been used. Peace

I have had enough experiences with plastic bags etc. changing the taste/smell of whatever I have stored in them. Glass is inert and will not change flavor/aroma. Just my opinion.

Harmful Plastic molecules may end up being smoked after storing in regeulat plastic bags. That's why you can use turkey bags to cure. Anything food grade will do. Plastic containers or Tupperware. Even nalgene BPA free jars will work. Anything BUT regular plastic bags or containers

I truly think or know that the chemicals in the plastic are not healthy......They can seep out their porous. Glass I believe is a solid.....?....Plus really, it just looks much better...LOL...

They kind of all have their drawbacks.
Glass is classier. Food grade plastic- like the containers left over from all sorts of food items we are constantly buying and eating, 'should' be fine.
Sealing metal canisters are nice and actually the best in some ways, but don't give a view of the buds.
I use all three but my main containers are one gallon glass pickle jars.
But picking all the glass fragments out of a full jar of bud after I broke one, wasn't a very good time.

Food grade plastic such as a peanut butter jar, just trying to use what is available to me.at no or lo cost! Can't see prob.? Any body hear of tanted peanut butter? Rite back at u. LY

Since most of us happily choke down the various GMO food products which are stored in those plastic containers for years on end, those containers should also be fine to use to store our bud for a few months, before we heat it up with butane and turn it into thick clouds of smoke to suck into our precious healthy lungs, I guess...?

And...ideally one wants to air tight their terpines.
and yes..they look really nice, are re-usable, and if you are reallllly thrifty: once done with burping and sone with but you can throw in a little 151 Bacardi rum into jar & shake it a lot..then you have a little tincture
:)

Because plastic is not biodegradable; it's made from petrolium distillates, and is not worthy of kissing the shoe soles of cannabis buds. (If buds wore shoes.)

In terms of aesthetics, plastic totally loses. I don't like it either.
Sadly, if anyone is actually living such a pure lifestyle that the poison coming from the bud stored in a food grade plastic container registers as a significant percentage of their daily intake of toxins, then they probably aren't living on this planet, because we only need to look around us to see roughly a billion far worse sources of toxins in our lives, including almost everything we eat, wear, breathe, and the objects and tools we implement for every purpose in life, including the one in front of us used to access the internet, and the power that runs it, and....
