Deionized water for checking ph pen. Where do you guys get yours or do you make your own? Having issues with comparing the ph results of the ph drops with my ph pen. The drops show around 8 or so vs 6.9 with the pen. And after adjusting water the drops show 6.00 or so but the pen 6.5? Maybe my deionized water is off?
 
Not having any issues. Just been playing around with stuff. Testing this that and the other. Lol I have never even once measured runoff ph. Just trying to figure out more of why this that and the other works.
 
If you have a local grow shop they should sell packets for .50$ to a buck. Two bases one at 4. And one at 7. General Hydroponics also makes testing solution that comes in big bottles, if you don't have a shop Amazon, Internet shops do.
never make it as I had a grow shop go out of business so I bought up case of packets at 50% off. You can reuse the packets for a bit.

You can not measure PH directly in DI water with a PH pen. To calibrate the ph pen, use calibration solution. I get DI water (for cleaning the pen after each use), PH pen storage solution (because you should never store the pen bulb dry), and calibration solution on amazon.

DI water has most likely traveled through a mixed ion bed, meaning all the positively charged particles and negatively charged particles have been removed from the water. Since your pen is searching for these charged particles, any reading will be inaccurate.
Basically a PH pen is the wrong instrument to test PH in DI water. There is not enough conductivity in the water for the pen to function properly.

The deionized water was to mix the solution to calibrate the pen with. Was just wondering what the easiest source was.
 
Lol Ok. I like the old fashioned way of growing. Real dirt, real sun, real fertilizer. Lmao much easier. I think D.A.A.S.69 would agree. Let the river grow my plants.
 
Redwasp redwasif your pl ooking for di wster go to a local pet store qith aqu and tics. Most tropical and slawater fish retail stores carry it by the gallons for fish enthusists. It usually comes sold as rodi water so youll need cal mag for sure. Food for thought, good luck and happy growing
 
Redwasp, I ain't never use that deionized water, when I was checking ph, all i ever used was tap water, to mix it up in.when I used them packs.
I always tried to get the big jugs of 4.0 an 7.0 solution on Amazon.
It don't take super good soil to grow mj, if you got good soil in your yard you can add perlite or such an grow some killer.
We just happened to be lucky, an got real ,rich, fertileriver delta soil.
