Dark Harvest GROW CHALLENGE!

I grow in my cellar and in the winter it gets down to 60 I often see color changes in what i'm growing so the temp swings definitely cause them
 
Yes lowering N in flowering is good. Temps also change the color. If you want purple or blue buds you need low temps.
 
I have 1 standalone bucket not hooked up to my rdwc. I want to try this on it and in thedark harvest using the stand alone so I dont mess up the whole crop. Thought it would be cool to compare colors if others wanted to join me since were all popping the same seeds... gonna start a standalone thread specific to ace...
 
For now put me on the really don't know list. So below the maybe. My grow went so well this time it doesnt make sense to do anything for awhile. I may but may take a couple month break. Not sure. Gonna travel for a few months i think.

It is too bad shipping is such a bitch, Craigs list NOT AN OPTION....I donated my last 3x3 tent, 5x5 tent, all accessories I couldn't use to my hydro store that found free homes. PS I'm NOT RICH- I work as hard as anyone for my equipment. The pleasure is all mine- makes me feel good🐝

Anthocyanin is what it is called or something like that . My spelling maybe off . Which is Greek for blue flower or purple flower or something like that . Lowering the temp will help bring out the color but the strain has to have the flavonoid to be able to produce this coloring . It can be red blue or purple depending on the strain . It requires a large swing in night vs day temp during the final weeks of the bloom . Dropping the RH during this time frame will also force your buds to pack on large amounts of trics.
 
The actually swing of the temp may not be required this is just what I read awhile back ( you may just need the lower temp not a big swing between night and day not 100% sure ) . Feel free to fact check me . As I might not be 100% accurate . But that’s the general idea of it .

Ok so did an little reading because I knew I forgot something and this is the important something . PH controls the coloring high acidity would give you a more red where as less acidic would give you the blue to purple . Being that cannabis is only slightly acidic you tend to get the purple color more often then anything else (red and blue make purple) . But by adjusting the ph slightly you can get a red or even a blue if your plant can handle the change . So in a ph closer to the 6.5 end you will get more of a dark purple to blueish color and at the lower end at 5.5 would would get a brighter purple (still not red but with more red influences then the higher end)

Btw anthocyanin means blue flower in Greek I looked it up after I made the first comment .

The Autumn Color Effect is a useful technique that can greatly improve the quality of your buds. But it is not easy to get just right, and you should not expect to master it unless you are consistently growing the same clones repeatedly to gain an intimate understanding of their grow cycle.

Trial and error are the only ways to perfect this technique. Put in the effort and time to discover the perfect feeding schedule for your plants. The first time you get ACE just right and are rewarded with a big yield of beautifully smooth, flavorful bud that burn as easily as tobacco, you will be glad you did.
 
I’m just putting it out there . I need a bloom bulb for my 600w hps . But I will settle for the whole light set up if I have to . 😜 I’ll need that new light in mh as I’m using my hps for the full grow right now . Btw my birthday is in September ,Father’s Day just pasted, And you didn’t get me a Christmas gift for the last 32 years so we can call it even after this 😐
 
I'd like to get the timing of harvest precise to growth not just seed bank times before I tried it. But more power to you if you expirement. 😃 😉.
 
I have a full line of sample bottles for advanced nutes . Maybe once I dig it out I can find someone who can use it . Should be enough for at least one full grow .

If you're going to guilt me into doing this, I for one will be doing both. If i can fit them all in...I have 5 starkiller clones, 1 PExWW, and two pinewarp in solos right now. I'm trying my hand at this bonsai mother gig so I might be able to lower that number.
I'll hopefully be visiting the pac-west this summer, visiting a friend. I want to stop by the Burning Bush Nurseries with him and get some Key Lime Pie seeds.
