400w hps question

Random advice from me would be to take the time to put a drain or two in the floor if possible before you fill it with plants.

Wish i could but i cannot do that part just yet. Im gonna epoxy the ground so might be able to then.
 
Might just grab the 1000s and rin with it for that price. I could always switch the ballast to a 600 later
 
I recommend a stay put type tarp put down BEFORE anything else is put in the room. This will mitigate any damage to floors if anything goes wrong. The tarps do not cost much at Home Depot I get a 10 foot by 25 foot one for $4.27 You could just use painters tape to affix the tarp to the floors and daisy chain the tarps to fit in your room and also slightly up the wall itself to prevent the WICKING of spills into the wall itself. cheep insurance especially if you have no drain.
 
It is a laundry room though. Looks like it has a concrete floor. A perfect location for a grow. May have dirty clothes from now on but at least you'll be stoned.

Concreate floors will get stains from the newts. as it is absorbent. Is the concreate sealed? Sealer can be applied easy using a paint roller.
 
need to figure your lumen or watts needed for yur space there is a formula to use " for lumens take Lx W and then x's answer by 2,000 (2,00- is # of lumens needed for 1 square foot of coveage - watt + LxW + ? then ? x's 50 = of watts needed for your space (some use 3,000 for lmens and some use 60 for watts)
 
nice looking plants - what is your light distance ? ( from top of plant's to light? ) plant's look very healthy
 
I have a friend tht uses a 1000 watt in a room bigger than that and is able to grow enough to not have to work a day job
 
reason i am placing epoxy down on the floor. laundry stuff is being removed so it will be a straight flower room. also i have plastic i can lay down on the ground or a reflective type material.
 
I've used trays about 18" across, with smart pots on risers for the last two grows, and it works well but is a bit of a hassle after watering because I have to use a Wet Vac to get the runoff out of the trays. Also put the trays on top of a tarp like "dontknownothin" suggested. It worked well too but was a hassle as I had to move the pots around once in a while_making it necessary to re-arange the tarp every so often. Now I have two plastic trays that I got at HomeDepot_ they are about 2x6 feet and 4" deep_ should work really well_easy to move around, should keep runoff manageable, protect against spills and will have to Wet Vac two trays instead of six. we''ll see. Good luck, sounds like you might be able to connect the intake/vent for your grow room to the vent that used to be used for the dryer if you are going to move the laundry stuff to a different location.
