1st LED Grow

After testing several, hand rinsing-squeezing blocks, trying pre mixes, etcetc ( BTW I went to the emerald cup last year with VIP pass and was treated like " an old lady" by vendors.) ..I discovered Cyco thru their nutrient systems ( I don't use) and ordered it. The Priemum Cyco is good for me on the 3rd or 4th grow with it mixed with perlite 1 to 3.

rockman you are kind and thanks. This was my first attempt at a journal and as indicated I lost it at the end due to heat/early harvest/etc. HOWEVER it is an isolated grow with coco coir/indoors/ switch to led/semi controlled environment so I thought the LED info might as I said to GWE be uselful to someone in part or total.

meant 3rd AND 4th grow PH feed is 6.0 to 6.1 waist is 6.0 to 5.7..when feeding as stated in"journal"
initially in rinsing first batch of Cyco Premium Coco Coir (just to check it) it came out 6.0 range , pretty clean stuff INMHO

Nebula thank you. I realized I hadn't flattened my pages..then did and reduced the size (duh) and THANK YOU for putting them together. Can it be posted as a unit?
and thanks for the pats...seems to me to be a word salad with pictures sorely lacking any science...BUT FUN!
GWE forum is a fabulous gift from you folks. I think it is unique in that the people ( what ever stage of learning) are civilized, funny, earnest , artful and generous. A social network of growers with passion. A tight crew open to all. What a special place you and Sirius created. BRAVO!!!
 
Thanks to Tika and NebulaHaze for putting Tika's grow journal together! Seems I have had very similar results using Platinum LEDs, coco and some of the same strains. Especially considering growing from seed in smart pots with coco. Same heat issues, same adjusting light height to match plant age and development. results with Kush and Skunk strains similar too. Lots of variation between the same strains_ tall and short plants, some variation between leaf shape and size as well_more or less indica vrs sativa characteristics within same strains. Up to three weeks difference between maturation of same strains, same grow.
Good to hear someone else is having similar results and its not just me!
I just harvested the last of the OG Kush and the Skunk #1. They are the oldest but largest plants and the colas are the largest I've grown. They look great. I decided to take these last ones down because even though they are still growing a few white pistils, more than 60% are "red" and 10-15% of the trichomes are amber.
Don't know if this is something related to these strains?
Growing from seed can certainly result in more variable results within a specific strain, it seems. A friend is opening a testing facility and I had him test this last harvest after three weeks curing.
The OG Kush varied between 14-19% THC and 0.5-2.3% CBD. The Skunk varied between 16-18% THC and 0.25%_1.3% CBD.
Hybrid seeds can result in plants with variable traits for sure....but I prefer growing from seeds than clones so I guess I'll just have to deal with that....kinda makes things interesting...
 
Nice for me too to know someone else is doing / has done the waltz of change...
i dont think I will ever go back to HPS given my growing space/ environment. Should that change ( more than totally unlikely) cheaper electricity..although my bill did not go down- it went up because of 4 lights. If I had 2 HPS pretty sure it would equall out.
Last week we had something like rain- high humidity that followed a heat wave. Today another heat wave- 90 here...79 over 43 in tent. Normally we are 63-66.
stay flexible - would enjoy seeing pics of your grow/ setup should you be so inclined.
 
i have been gathering information this evening in a planning ahead effort and searching heat wave somehow got me to this wonderful business.....
