    Are different brand coco beyter

Ive heard ur coco can make a huge difference is this true? If so I assume roots organic and coco loco are better than the 11 pound block from home depot? Any input plz and thank u

Agreed, not all coco is created equal.
The not so good quality ones can come containing unwanted salt because they haven't be pre rinsed or they haven't been pre buffered either to help try to prevent Cal Mag issues.
They also come in different fibre sizes. The really fine stuff has a poorer water to air ratio then bigger fibres.

That being said the stuff in bricks can be pretty good. I get good quality 5kg/11lb coco mega bricks (just called mega because they're bigger than the standard size) from a local Australian company at my local grow shop, cheaper than the stuff in bags, comes pre rinsed & buffered & it works wonders for me. I don't even mix any perlite in. They claim it's exactly the same stuff that comes in their premium bags.

Roots Organic Original has a fair amount of coco and I have "just" started mixing the ROO with coco/perlite 70%/30% for more drainage/feeding.

First container, added 1/3 of the coco mix with ROO
Second container was a 50/50 mix
Third container was all coco/perlite without ROO.

It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

I use Canna coco it comes in 2 bags so if you only need half you only re hydrate half . to me its ease of use. and whats available ,if you like what your using stick with it use that extra money on stuff you will have to replace anyways like lights ,nutes, fans ect.. as long as your giving the girls what they need they will be happy

Very good point I use the 11 pound block from home depot and it says its washed and works fine and is really good price I just wonder if the extra cash investment in better coco would be worth it
