I will post crop milestones and whenever I handle the plant for topping/defoliation/tie down/harvest, etc.

Feed/water is going to be different depending on your environment, but I will note the current frequency with posts.

    Into the tent- 28" under a MarsHydro reflector48 @ 20/4.

LED @26" with a schedule change to 24/0 (once it broke ground) - until it reaches the 4-5th node.

Weekly watering/feeding with GH trio until transplant (about 2 weeks).

Back in the tent with 3 other plants at various stages of flowering.

Place medium in container so when you place the plant on- it is slightly evelvated @ 1/2"-3/4" above soil- this allows for faster oxygen to the roots @ each feeding.
Continue with GH trio - only watering to the drip line.

Water/feed every 3 days- just around the plant's drip line-
LED @ 23" reduced to 20/4 as 4/5 nodes have developed.

Once the plant grows again after transplant (a few hours to a day) I will be topping @ the 5th node = 10 cola's and trim the first set of single leaves-ONLY- NOT the corresponding bud sights.
It should begin to flower soon after. (began flower and corresponding stretch on 2/21/2018)

I know this is an oldie, but I have a question. When you say "Water to the drip line" , do you mean you're watering the area from the stem to the drip line, or from the drip line to the pot margin? (Sorry, just really curious)

Eigholte, I water the area contained within the stem to drip line with more along the drip line, as this is coco/perlite and needs to not dry out, but you can not overwater the seedling either.
Looking for the roots to seek water into the soil which will wick the water.

In the pic below, I have removed the lowest, left, single leaf- I cut so a long stem piece 1/2" remains on the main stock, so as not to disturb the bud/branch sites.

I removed the other single leaf on the right.
I will decide on defoliation during week 3 of flower- in the mean time, the plant is left to grow.

In about a 3-5 days I will switch my grow from GH trio to Organic with minerals, so no need for ph/ppm etc unless a problem develops.

Dood, cool idea leaving the top of the previous root ball exposed. That makes perfect sense. How long do you let it grow like that before you fill it in?

Maybe I should clarify- I fill in -around the rootball (pic) at transplant-

The 1/2-3/4 inch is an offset height from the germbag/original rootball- to the top of soil-(think raised bed)-which is left throughout the grow.

Far too many people bury the stem in an attempt to make it shorter or sturdy, which futher slows oxygen to the roots and decreases the amount of room to grow and yield.
Especially if you use a nursey pot initially, as the roots grow downward , where as the fabric pot has massive lateral roots which fill the entire medium after transplanting.

Thanks for the clarification, and I like your reasoning. I've been burying my stem to reduce the height of the first nodes for the very reasons you point out, especially having read that the roots will start to form higher up on the stem as you bury it. But I can see how it might help to not do that, at least not so heavily, or so soon after replanting, would allow the growing root ball time to breathe and develop.

I've also been fascinated by those little germ bags. I'mo try some for starting my outdoor plants this spring.

Hey, OJH- good to hear from you.
This grow is a KISS grow, so I am not fretting over the small stuff (ie humidity levels in 20's, temps cool for veg) to see just how much (and the quality) you get- with doing so little and handling the plant only 4-5 times a grow.

Plant is drinking a lot for the tent/light size and I decided to defoliate before week #3
A few branches tied down to even the canopy. Gnatnix added.
The plant is droopy as the lights out time was while I defoliated and needing water-

My topping left handed while taking a pic- ended up being a FIM but with a total of 11 colas (I usually use 8-10)
The temps are running lower than I like for this stage, so I increased the light to 24/0 and returned to tent under LED @14"
The plant was moved from a 240w LED to a 480w LED once in flower.

I defoliated leaving a "skirt" of lower fan leaves (one for each branch) as the lower leaves are good indicators of nutrients/plant health.
Nutrients were changed 2 weeks ago to Organic with minerals and water/feed is not lasting 2 days!

The plant has been handled 3 days= seed/transplant-topping/defoliation.

Water/feed every 2 days - no plain water days.

LED moved closer @12" (mfg range = 10-16" in flower). 24/0 during cold spell.

"Cookie" is looking good with smaller than usual buds- however, I'm only running 1/2 the amount of light. (480w v 1020w LED).

That said, I consistently have 3+ ounces/plant under 1020w and it will be interesting to see how much the yield is reduced vs the electric cost cut in half.

oldjarhead100, Thank you- If this was my usual grow- I would have trimmed her up one more time.

In bloom wk #6 day #2- Harvest window usually lasts about 7-14 days.

The hairs began to darken/curl, leaves are getting lighter, trichomes are clear/cloudy with scattered amber.
                    Still drinking with usual frequency.
Water/feed has been 2.5-3 liters every 2 days.

Water only, going forward-allow leaves to feed plant-wait for more dark/curled hairs and trichomes all cloudy & definite amber throughout.

The buds are very dense and plentiful-
