    Artificial Intelligence

Where is everyone? Having several pages of open ongoing issues on the forum in the not so recent past was common place. I asked Google if there was an AI chat bot specifically for weed. Seems there's not. There are several chat bots provided by companies that appear to be specific to the products that are being sold by said company. Are pharmers taking their questions and issues about growing MJ to AI instead of coming here? IDK...but it feels weird.

I agree. Used to be if I went off grid to camp for a day or two, there would be 20-30 posts with several threads on each when I got back. These days you can go a whole day without a new post. Maybe it is AI.

Hello Bowhunterwoody. I just wanted to say my fav bow was the Super Kodiak, and I was an instinctive shooter. I am 75yrs old and weigh 135lbs and I can't pull the bow back anymore. I sure miss those days, bad!

I don’t know where AI is at people seem to use it a lot for regular questions, but there’s also just such an explosion of info sources on growing MJ folks are elsewhere.
I think probably more people going water only soil which keeps it simpler IMHO
Also as Sirius put it recently this forum is technically archaic, that has to be a turn off for some despite all the great info and the main site.
It’s also summer so I feel like maybe that’s the off season for a lot of folks not growing outside
KIS mix organic living soil from Black Sallow soils in 7gal. pots
Black Swallow Organic Bloom mix top dress before flower.
Reusing soil with Black Swallow nutrient pack between grows

A buddy of mine grows one plant outside every year and sent me a screenshot of him asking if his plant was ready to harvest to Chatgpt. It told him not to harvest yet and give it a week or more. It was dead on. Not kidding.

AI is fairly new and fascinating. I have found some responses to be valuable and others totally and and completely wrong.
For my grows, I will continue to default the ultimate plant decisions to biological intelligence.

I appreciate everyone's perspective. I am not opposed to AI. This rush to embrace and incorporate it into every aspect of our daily lives seems a bit foolish to me. I find it kind of creepy to interact with an AI bot as if I was interacting with a human. AI is a machine and IMHO should be treated as such. Google says Growweedeasy.com is the internet's gold standard for self help and advice for growing weed. I'd hate to lose that. I'm afraid that once AI is firmly entrenched (might already be) in our world we'll be locked out without paying a fee to get the information we need or buying a subscription. Seems like that is already happening.

The scary part is that the scientist who study this stuff say there is a 20% chance that the advent of AI will be an extinction event for the human race. ( according to Bill Maher) and we are still going full speed ahead.

Think about this; They are trying to make computers think like humans. I think they have succeeded. Computer don't know truth from false, they just analyze information they are given and try to make sense out of it. So do humans.Point is; You have to decide what you hear or read is true or false. JMHO.............

Google Gemini admitted that it's responses were limited by preset parameters installed by Google. I had criticized Gemini for using AI speak to make excuses for a certain someone's behavior and refusing to be objective about said person. The upbeat always positive never give up attitude in the AI's responses, according to Gemini is designed to establish a relationship...it's creepy.

Just remember that another word for artificial is FAKE. Do you really trust anything that tells you in the name of the item that its A FAKE? Also my 2 cents - just cause we can do something don't mean we shud

We started with a garden, cow, and chickens. Now we have anything if we have the money. We need to go back to self sustaining a little more before everything collapses. Things shouldn't be mass produced other than grow equipment and fast cars. When I was a kid we ordered medium rare. Now it's all chemically frozen and cooked medium. I don't get it.

There's something to that self sustaining thought. It's scary. What would happen if all of a sudden we had to produce our own food? It's a thought that comes up when discussing the catastrophic water shortage happening as the Colorado river dries up. We tend to think that technology is the answer for everything...uhhh....no it's not.

Imagine what land would cost if this ever happened. Try growing food on a rental with no land access like most of America cities. Beyond Cannabis, this is why I am getting back to growing my food sources. Starting to attempt garlic then branch out.

Most people say ohio sucks. I'm two small blocks off of the lake. Yeah algae blooms and not so great water but still water. Nothing really bitey or stingy around. Never worry when I reach in tall grass and pull weeds, molds a bitch and I get WPM on my vines and now lantern flys on my hops and grapes but we get by. My dad lives in southern California and I've sent him pics of me washing my driveway years ago when there were water restrictions at his place.

He is visiting now, 74 ish now, we are building a shed here at my place. This will be our last bigger project together. Both of us are old now. Not giving up but no more hammers at least for a while.

Buy yeah, I'm not saying I'd survive well but I've always been canning and growing food from watching my mom. She could never cook but that lady knows her plants. Her side had farmed since the 1800s. I just need her to write a prepping book for me to follow and we all are golden. Just like a shower.
