Stoner thoughts about Miracle-Gro (what makes nutrients "good" for weed?)

Ok, I get that there is no "best" cannabis nutrient system. Anyone who's gone online has seen growers grow great weed with tons of different nutrients.

Some growers use bottled nutrients (Fox Farm, General Hydroponics, etc.), some use dry nutrients (Jacks, Dr Earth), and some growers amend the soil (Super Soil, Nature's Living soil) so the soil itself provide nutrients. They all have pros and cons.

But even if there is no "best", that doesn't mean that some aren't better than others.

For example, everyone agrees Miracle-Gro is the worst thing ever, but why exactly? What in particular is it about Miracle-Gro or other "bad" cannabis nutrients, that's so much worse than General Hydroponics or Dr Earth nutrients?

Do they leave residue in the buds? Do the plants just grow slower with smaller yields? Do they get more deficiencies? Something about pH?

I've been thinking about this since the debate post yesterday about the best autoflowering nutrients.

My stoner hypothesis: What if Miracle-Gro only seems terrible for growing cannabis, because most growers who use Miracle-Gro are beginners. And the more expensive, advanced nutrients only seem particularly special, because growers who buy professional nutrients likely take better care of their plants.

What does the GrowWeedEasy.com forum think? What have growers here noticed between different nutrient brands, if anything. (yields, smells, density, growth speed/health, deficiencies...)

Has anyone ever seen cannabis grown with Miracle-Gro to show what happens?

Here's a quote from the article at the link. It's part of the information that I used to make the switch from soil to coco. I think it may answer your question or give points to ponder while stoned, IDK.

"The biggest problem with the standard Miracle-Gro nutrient formula is that it’s one formula for the entirety of the plant’s life cycle. Even if the standard Miracle-Gro plant food is decent for the first stage of your plant’s growth, it won’t be good for the budding/flowering phase. The ratio of nutrients your plants need changes drastically between seedling and full flower."

My first grow was in miracle grow, had a decent harvest, nice size flower, but no flavor, the following year I bought my first tent, and switched to fox farm soil and bottles, that worked too but I ended up throwing the pots away after a few rounds because of the salt buildup,I joined my first forum and one of the guys got me started on the nectar of the gods , now there's some silly stuff going on with them,so I switched to down to earth dry amendments and I like how it's going

there were so many mistakes on my 1st grow that I cant blame it all on M.G., it started and fin. in a window, small pots, overwatered or over luved as i say., early harvest. i got about an oz outta 6 autos. might try 1 plant 1/2 MG 1/2 compost soil on some purple satelitte reg. seeds for my 1st indoor grow. on a side note/question, does anyone think reg. plant food is worth adding during flowering?

It's the slow release nutes in the soil that gives it the bad rap. Still giving lots of N in flower is ng. They do have other blends that don't have slow release nutes, organic I think but I haven't tried it.

You should let the plant tell you that 😁

I saw some blip a while back that they were trying to get into the cannabis market to compete with FF and GH with designed fert products for mj. Apparently they decided to not do it. Probably political or too damn late to the party.
