HELP! Issues with HEIGHT of GROW LIGHT - light stress and deficiency

Dear grower community,

Ive been struggling some time with optimum height adjustment during all the life cycle of plants. So Ive been doing a DIY project trying to understand more the problems and solve these troubles. Would anybody be interested in similar solution or its only my trouble with the light? :-)
I’m trying to better understand how other indoor growers actually handle light distance and plant height in real setups. This way I want to understand more others - how you do the things with light, how you decide, if its time to heighten the light, how do you solve uneven height of plants or whole canopy? Do you use PAR?
So I’m working on a personal hardware concept related to possible future optimization of indoor growing (mainly canopy height and light distance management). I am doing prototypes and I want to understand how people actually handle this in real setups instead of guessing. Each setup is very individual.
If you grow indoors with LEDs and have 1 minute, I’d really appreciate your input.

Please share your experiences (maybe you had historically only in the first few cycles) with light adjustments to the growth of the plant through veg and bloom phase and if you ever had some troubles?

Ooops, does it sound like AI?? I know oc the web page you mentioned with all those practival infos, but I think not everybody is reaching there or to good sources? But maybe I am asking in too specialized growers forum and nobodys getting trouble with light adjustment anymore here? Remember when you began? I do Do you think newcomers would appreciate more guidance?

The manufacturers guide is just that, a guide. The plants will tell you when the light is too intense, but you have to pay attention. Daily checks will help, maybe every other day, but def not weekly or sporadically. The seed suppliers grow guide is just that, a guide. Depending on how many crosses, you might end up with more than one phenotype from the same seeds. That can produce uneven canopies, so can a lot of other factors. I use a PAR meter regularly and try to meet the PAR recommendations for each stage of growth. I try to max out the light without burning the plant while maintaining the right distance. I use a DIY measuring stick to determine light distance. I also use the dimmer. Some don't. I don't like the ratchet adjusters but that seems to be the standard. I top every plant and have taken up manifolding and adjust flower light schedules to control plant stretch.
