I've been running the light at 20% power getting around 150 ppfd so I turned it up to 40% and now the plant is getting around 300 ppfd, just wondering if I should turn it up a little bit more, maybe try to get around 500??

Bowhunterwoody hydryo is easy, soil is easy, coco is easy... It's just a matter of which one works best for you and is less hassle for you to deal with on a daily basis. It's like riding a bike, its always easy once you know how. I do all three, hydro is my preference but growing stout dank effective flowers is always the goal
Gator I've learned to avoid top watering by keeping the reservoir slightly fuller and using jiffy pods to start. This keeps the stones wet enough to keep the pod moist but not wet. I found with the large deep ceramic stone reservoir the pod need to be a little lower and you for sure need something around the top of those large opening to prevent light seepage. I've been doing hydro for over a decade and I know for sure this works.
