    Hash making temperature

Got to rolling up some kief between my fingers because I had some kief and nothing better to do.
Got me to wondering at what point the kief becomes hash, temperature wise. Y'all hash people talk about hot water in a bottle to roll things out.
What temperature do you use, and will hotter or colder water give different results in hash quality? Is heat just a way to get the kief to stick together? Would curing kief be the same as curing hash?
Pressure, too, I guess. Are the rock-hard pucks I can make in my little hand press the same quality or ? as finger rolled temple balls?

When I make a 3 gram biscuit I set my press at 125 F for about 1 minute and that seems to work well.

ID:	630125 The bottle technique I use is based on master hashin French Cannoli s teaching.
It’s meant to keep it simple for us dumb dumbs.
      It goes like this:
Water boils at a set temp , cannabis decarb requires a certain temp and time to complete the chemical transition of the compounds.
If you boil water and fill the bottle immediately (and carefully), roll the hash for 10 minutes with light pressure , mostly just the weight of the bottle , maybe a bit more. I use a pair of leather gloves but a tea towel works too.
Then reboil the water and repeat for a total of three pressing sessions of 10 minutes , the science takes care of itself.
Frenchy determined this was a way to achieve the complicated science of decarboxylation.

Decarboxylation is why Hash gives you a different buzz then smoking flower.
When you burn weed in a joint many of the desired compounds burn away as the material goes from “raw” to combusted before decarbing takes place as the temp is too high. When you heat press the material properly many of these convert from the acidic (unavailable to us) for to the available, THCA to THC for example. When you smoke that you unlock a whole new dimension of effects, this can be endlessly tweaked (back to complex science), to your preference.

don’t take my word for it, go deep on this and other topics here under “writings…” and “science…” tabs

Frenchy Cannoli was renown hash-maker, teacher and researcher on the history of cannabis concentrates in human society. His legacy continues through the work of the foundation established in his name.
