Am not really high. 😎
I had almost 2 lbs that I needed to process. Will get 70 - 80 ml of RSO from part of it. Takes time to watch over the process so I don't blow up my lab!! Safety first.
Need to concentrate the rest into something else. Therefore dry ice hash. Can do on kitchen table. So easy. All three sifts are good.

It is good to see people being safety conscious in their lab. The setup I use is operated with years of experience behind me. I try to clarify things as I post, but there are so many details involved in running the batch safely that I could write a book on it. My friend with ALS asked me if I could teach someone to run a rig like mine. My response was eventually, what lab bench skills does the person bring with them? He said what do you mean? I responded, can I teach someone to scuba dive? Yes eventually, but does the person know how to float, swim well, snorkel? These are skills developed on good foundations. I explained that I was not trying to be snobbish, rather I didn't want to do a half baked job and give them only enough knowledge to hurt themselves. If you don't know, ask, read, study.

lol yes ckbrew it was. I was very competitive growing up… well more like , i enjoyed testing myself. I had to stop at 8 hrs cuz the pool closed at the complex. It’s all about steady breathing and the technique. Some people do the bicycle, some the frog, i combined them and it was virtually effortless .I could also hold my breath for 5 mins , might have been longer but the life guard freaked out lol. Cant do that now though.

That is good. I got to thinking about that and started to wonder if you were on a boat that sunk or something. I understand testing limits.

Treading water has always been easy for me.
I have always had a little extra fat and poochy belly; fat floats! Don't panic. Control breathing. Watch the skinny people go down when the boat sinks. I'll also live longer when the plane crashes on the mountain because my body has more of itself to eat when we're down to eating our shoes.

And that's a good reason not to jerry rig Ckbrew. If you're not a good tinkerer, there's no shame in buying a setup, whatever the case may be. Do lots of research. Know the dangers, not just the benefits. I did some questionable stuff with the blasting. Probably shouldn't have done any of it, but I'm glad I did and I'm glad I don't.
Gots me some real fine crispy nugs getting crispier in Santa Ana conditions just begging to be dry sifted. Do I sift a little before RSO? Do I let it go straight RSO? Probably take a nap, then decide. What will the hash dreams say?

I say no sift. It will add another variable to your experiment.

The hash dreams said dump it in my sift bucket for storage until the ethanol gets here. If I accidentally agitate the bucket and trichomes fall off, it would be an accident. Accident hash.
Maybe I need another nap?

We compromised. No bloody way could I not gather a few trichomes.
2 ounces, one ounce at a time, 15 seconds of light, stem agitation in a 220 bag. Best I can figure is .75 grams. That's killing me. Best dried bud I've been able to get and it would give me some freaking awesome dry sift. I still have 2 ounces ready I can't get the hay out of that will for sure get washed.
Do you remember what got me to making my first batch of RSO? A dry sift run was a large bust because the air was so humid the trichomes were sticking to the bag and the bucket return was horrible. I gathered what I could from the bucket and dumped a quart of Kosher into the bag and evaporated what came out. I think it's better than the BHO I was making. Both can taste and smell like burned, fried chicken butthole crumbs, but the RSO head and body are beyond BHO, without the residual butane bonus!
I even have enough other dope sitting around I could put this away and let it cure. Lightly packed in a little jar, somewhere. Maybe two jars? Maybe use a warm pollen press?
I'm rationalizing dedicating more work to at least one of those first two ounces. My mind is probably already made up. We'll see what happens after Dabber does whatever she's so anxious at the door about.

Yep. I did an ounce. Did it right brutal with a little coffee grinder action. Not espresso grind. More like drip.
2 grams came from a 220 micron. Combining that with the earlier sift and sugar leaf and trim gatherings, there's 4 grams in the picture.
Not sure what the shine was. I thought it was water because the press was submerged in warm water. But it was super sticky and made my finger smell like dope. It has since gone away.
Shavings are from the press are being smoked. Mr. Stickypuck is folded up in parchment paper, in a medicine bottle, in a seldom visited cabinet.

Your post is timely. I fully agree with SAFETY FIRST and hope the other forum members not so aware get the point. Anything to do with processing cannabis into concentrates is/can be dangerous.
There is much more than explosion risk from unvented hydrocarbon vapor build up.
Are you wearing safety glasses when running your set up? No?
Bad. Seriously bad. Keeping other adults/kids in your household safe? Just because one watches a youtube video does not mean they are qualified to try doing it. I won't even process stuff when high. Too dangerous.

This is why my wanting and my common sense are keeping me going slow and realizing my limitations due to zero mentoring opportunities. You guys impress me daily. Safety glasses are a must. I have forgotten how many times I could have permanently lost an eye that was prevented because I was wearing them, It was more than six times.

A gram or two of dry sift from the Going2fast Scarlet Grapes I trimmed up.
I’ll let that cure for 30 days or so along with the flower, and use it as bowl toppers

I like mine straight. If loose, just a sprinkle in an empty bowl. Bring the flame down close enough to bubble the kief but not actually touch. It's vaping kief. The taste is amazing. After doing that a few times, when it's done boiling and wants to cherry-up, it's done. I don't know why people smoke down to gray on everything. Combustion is bad. Bought a set of these for just such occasions.
And dabbing. No guessing on how much I'm doing. A level drop is my usual dab. When people come over, I break out the rest to see who's adventurous.

How many drops in a tad?

You want me to do math? With fractions? On dope?
A drop is 1/64 teaspoon. A tad is 1/4 teaspoon. If you carry the one, google says 16.
I don't think anyone has done the tad. That's my kief spoon.
