    Lighting

Hello everyone I have never grown under lights. Grew a little outside three or four decades ago. It is amazing how far growing it has come since my days years ago. Anyway,in Ohio next month,we can have six plants so I am going to learn how to grow in the basement. Been reading and looking at different lights. The spider ones look to be about what I might try. Was wondering if two of the sf 1000 lights are equal to the sf2000 or is the 2000 just a little more powerful. Like I said,I am brand new at this and any input would be greatly appreciated. Going to make a two by four by six area to get started. And again, thanks in advance

Two se3000 would work nice in a space that size

I would suggest that 2 3000’s is way too much for light for that space.

      2 x 4 = 8ft²

8 x 30W(ideal wattage per sq foot for flowering photoperiods)=240W

therefore a 240watt is perfect for flowering photoperiods with an 8ft² canopy.

    Interesting question….
2 1000’s may provide more even light over that space.

Welcome DOB13, I have a SF2000 for vegging and a SF4000 for flowering. I am very happy with that setup. I have a 4x4x7 tent.

In a 2 x 4 I would use 2 VS1500's. Good quality and good price. It's a little overkill for your size tent but once you get better at growing indoors you'll be glad you have the extra power when you get to flower.

I would suggest you measure the ambient humidity in your space along with temperature as the basement is going to be your lung room so knowing what you need to acclimate your lung room to the environment you want in the tent is crucial and will mitigate lots of issues down the road.

I would also recommend that you look at grow gear from a company called AC Infinity. IMO, they have some of the best equipment along with customer service. There are others that have similar gear but I've never worked with theirs so I can't vouch for their quality or performance.

Thanks. I will look into that company. Looking forward to learning how to grow inside.

I think the sf2000 with 2x4 ft configuration is essentially 2 1000s. To have 2 lights can be advantageous if you want grow different height strains at once. They have an sf2000 configured for 3x3 also.
I would spend the extrA $ to get the newer Evo leds.
        Welcome and best of luck

Thanks. I was reading about the evo thing. That's a good thought about the two lites for different heights

I use an SE3000 in a 2.5x2.5x5 tent with great results. Two of these in a space your size would cover everything nicely.
