I get an organic no-nutes mix from my local farm stand greenhouse store. It's up to $7 USD for a cubic foot. They have a plainer mix for $5 but it doesn't have wood, perlite or wetting agent which I like in mine. TANSTAAFL Amazon seems high to me maybe hidden shipping costs. Name brand dirt cost less at the "Country Max" farm and garden store than Amazon.Drying: Strawberry Cough photo started indoors Apr 27. Moved outdoors June 25. Harvested October 8.
Past grows: Speakeasy Bourbon Berry Auto F1 (Ogreberry x Whiskey Zulu),
Whiskey Zulu, Trizzlers

Do not bag on the person for ordering soil.
If you want something specific, nurseries and DIY stores don't carry everything.
Some of us live on concrete. Everything gets tilled and paved over.
Some of us have sandstone mixed with clay for local soil
Some of us don't have cars we can hop in for a quick trip. Nothing is close or convenient.
To follow tutorials and the like from the GWE website, certain products are recommended.
So, please, do not bag on the person for ordering soil. Yeah?C'mon, mule!

Okay. I have to tease just a little. If there is something growing in it, you can grow something in it. You people with more than 450 leased square feet to your name get my ginger up.
I can see wanting to do things right for a 4-month commitment. But I'm going to lay down something you need to prepare for: lack of success. Sometimes you get a bum seed or a caterpillar might eat you up. WPM. Bugs. Cats. Expect the best, prepare for the worst.C'mon, mule!

Gingerbeard it's not that bad to grow 1-2 plants outdoors if you pay attention to the plants. He's got acreage a couple 20gal pots filled half way with dirt from a fertile area then amended with 2 cubic bags from any box store. This guy isn't a dum dum like someothers he's just uncertain. Digging a hole in the ground for next year heck you got plenty of time to gather all the ingredients needed. Too bad for you choices made in the past don't get pissy cause of the box you live in and shame others for saving for the unknown.

I don't where that's coming from. But, hey. I'm still having a good day.

Lowe's has cubic ft blocks of bags with mycroniez ( not spelled right but it's close ) big huge bags. That's the only thing i'd use in my dug out holes and i have 2 raised garden beds that i'm filling with them. It's about $30 ea but it is good stuff. Ask your nursery also, ours makes soil forsale retail also.

Go along to a community garden meeting if you have those. Talk to your next door neighbours, look at what they are growing and what they have done. Learn to identify your soil types at varying depths and suitability.
Where I last lived the soil was no good and needed to be mixed a little into a lot of home made living soil. It's a wonderful and fascinating process and nothing can beat it when you get it right.

Or ponzi314 you could just skip the whole soil thing and grow in coco coir. I have found it to be easier than dirt. There is the cost thing though cause you won't be able to dig up any coco from your yard. If you haven't already, check out this link for soil nutrient recommendations.
by Nebula Haze Soil is so simple. So close to nature. Add seeds, remember to water your plants, and wait for an awesome harvest, right? Unfortunately, many growers run into problems with cannabis plants in soil. The culprit is almost always either your environment, watering habits, or nutrients/supplements.
