I like products that are environmentally friendly as well as effective. My top recommendation would be grow stones because they work well and are made from recycled glass. You can reuse them too if you sterilize and clean them.

    Howdy tyler_hobbyist,
I have one original 'Bubbleponics' and one DIY set up. The DIY is made from a Sterilite 10 gallon tote with six 3 3/4 inch net pots, a six outlet DIG distributor (available where ever drip irrigation supplies are sold), water pump, and a dual outlet air pump with two 4 inch air stones. I did learn to reinforce the lid of both of them with an aluminum angle (3/4 x 3/4 x 1/16 inch) bolted to the under side with stainless steel machine screws and lock nuts. Here's a photo of them.
    Smoke weed,.....grow peace!

That's an awesome setup and the girls look amazing how are the roots with the 3inch baskets? I grow autoflowers and I'm just courious about not giving the roots enough room???

The size of the net pots does not seam to be a problem, the greatest portion of the root mass is in the reservoirs. Those photos are older and do not show that there is only one plant remaining in the planters (started with eight, lost four as males, and two strangled or shaded out by their big sister!). I have the reservoir marked (inside) as to the volume and now, when I fill the reservoir with six gallons, it shows filled to seven gallons. That would indicate about one gallon of root mass!
Just allow approximately three gallons for each plant and You should be ok.

Nebula's site was one of the first I found when researching how to grow indoors. What I really love about growing is that I'm sort of a mad scientist-picking and choosing from different setups and the monster is alive! I use a 30 gal tote as a rez and plumb 8 buckets to recirc back to the rez. My next fiendish experiment will be COB led's for my lamps......
      WHAT???
      5x5 grow space
      900w of Vero's and F-strips
      4-17gal totes self-made UC system.

            Grow stones or hydroton/clay balls.

Can't add too much air. The more air the better.
