I'm learning a lot from both of the threads guys. Some of us newer growers can feel a little intimidated when posting on well respected growers posts that have way more knowledge than us, so don't let that discourage you from doing it. Keep up the great work guys.

Thanks man! I’m still following your auto grow 😉 Tbh I felt the same way so I checked the views, people are looking they just aren’t posting if that makes you feel better, I’m sure same deal on your thread. I didn’t want to stop the journal for the people following along but I can’t add any more pics, I can post words but not pics. Not sure if it’s a issue with the forum or what. The ‘show your grow’ thread is 200+ pages so I doubt there’s limits on pics you can post 🤷🏻‍♂️

I understand where you're coming from - I feel the same about my autoflower training thread - like no one's paying attention. So I decided to continue with my thread just for myself and me and I - so the 3 of us can understand what we have done and what we could have changed - easier to see with some sort of journal.
    Keep at it.

There aren’t many comments on this thread but it is being viewed so after finding some old pics of a actual scrog’d plant I thought we’re deleted I’m doing some editing. The Cali Dream on post number 1 was NOT scrog’d. I believe I stated this before but wanted to clarify. I only used the pictures to show a big full screen but it’s no more of a scrog than the pics I keep seeing on GWE of someone placing a net in their tent, allowing the plants to grow through it and posting a pic of their scrog. Scrig? You just let your plant grow through a net, zero technique. Not a ScrOG. Therefore I deleted the Cali Dream pics and replaced with the Chocolope for accuracy.

This post is reminding me why I hated writing papers in college. My mind is all over the damn place when I try to put something like this in order but I promise I’ll eventually pull it all together and make sense out if it. For everyone who’s following, hopefully you get results. Not a pretty plant, but results! Once this is over I may clean it up and redo it in a better order once I can see it as a whole and make sense of it. If so that will be a new post, not a newer edited version of this one.

I don’t think I gave these plants enough time to get used to the new pots before going to 12/12. They stunted a little for a few days and it took almost a week to see any signs of flower after the switch. They just finished week 1 of flower and growing like weeds now. I’ll give them a few more days to fill the screens then I’m thinning them out a little. As you can see, there’s a lot of bud sites inside those 14”x15” spaces

I guess I could stack them on top of each other

Nice full tent - but it still looks like your plants have elbow room.

Added this picture to show what I’m talking about by letting the little stuff get light. I circled all the colas growing up off the three mains in the pic. If this plant was growing vertically, the top portion of those buds would be nice and full then the lower you go down the stem they get fluffier and less mature. F that! All those buds will get as much lights as the tops this way. Hardly any fluff. Keep everything growing under snd out to get all your bud sites exposed. That’s why you can grow tiny plants and still get 3-4oz per plant of solid nugs this way. To be continued

Week 3 defoliation and feeding took place last night on the big girls, looks like they bounced back nicely.

Ok, now to the little ones this thread is about. Before and after pictures of what I do every evening as soon as the lights some on. I pull each stem down under the screen and stretch it all out in the direction I want it ti keep growing in. All articles I’ve read say to let the growth get about 4” above the screen then to pull it down and move it into the next space over. That method works but the reason I do it this way is to get all the small stuff coming up as much light as possible. If everything goes as planned, by the time the screen is full, the small colas coming up in the center should be close to the same height as the mains that reach the edge for a level canopy.

The plant on the right is super full, doubt it’ll go another 2wks before I start removing some leaves from her

I thought I’d use this pic to show a little better use of the technique. The size of the plant/screen will determine how much grow should be focused on the center. For this small screen I meant to leave two but a third ended up remaining snd it’s against a ziptie in a way that I’m afraid it will snap if I tried to pull it back out so it’s staying. The yellow shows a empty spot that’s remaining. There will be a few other empty holes once the colas in them now get bigger and go towards the outer edge, that’s why you want to leave some behind to grow in the center and fill those spaces. The red arrows shows which way those colas are going and the orange arrows show where I’ll put the side shoots that are growing off those colas. Now this could all change by this evening but that was the plan as of yesterday evening. With the Cali Dream I left 6 colas behind and grew them in a circle around the center but that’s under a 24”x24” screen.

Main thing for now as it stretches is to fill the screen. Let the small stuff grow up to become big stuff while keeping the big stuff growing out and under to fill the screen. Easiest way I know to explain it. Week 3 when it’s time to defoliate again I’ll thin the plant out by removing any small/skinny stems and any lower growth that didn’t keep up with the rest of the plant. Until then, every evening I’ll check the plants out and any big leaves that are coving other colas or bud sites I gently tuck down under the screen but I don’t remove anything else until week 3

Thanks buddy! I should’ve taken some cuttings from that Cali Dream before flipping, great genes in that plant. Be cool to see what she could do given the entire tent. That may be a grow down the line 🤔

I sound like a bboyfromwayback fanboy, but those scrog pics are as close to perfection as I've ever seen!

Perfect training above and below the screen. All the plants look great, but the scrogs are going to be monsters.

The girls are going into the flower tent today. Did a light defoliation but not much since I’ve been removing some leaves as they grew to keep the center open. Heavy defoliation in a few weeks. Until then it’s pretty much cruise control. At this point I let all the small stuff in the center start growing up while keeping the mains growing out towards the edges but still under the screen.

Experience helps by knowing how big of a screen to use. Depending on the veg time, pot size and plant. Ideally you want your screen full within 2wks of flipping to 12/12. After that the stems start to get too hard and force themselves towards the light. I expect both of these plants to slightly outgrow these screens which is what I wanted to completely fill my tent. I’ll post some more pics in a few days.

Little update just to show everything is still growing under the screen. I planned on moving these into the flower tent by now but right after I transplanted them the autos were done so I moved these girls into a unfinished closet in my basement. Growth slowed until I started germinating these little ones and added a heater plus T5’s 🤔 so anyways, going to give them a few more days to veg before I defoliate and flip
