    light for seedlings?

I know seeds need heat and moisture for rooting but what kind of light do they need?

There is a vast amount of tutorials and write-ups to educate yourself with, easily accessed at the main site! (Aside from forums). Knowledge is power, bigslick!

There many grow lights that work well for growing cannabis indoors, but they boil down to 3 popular types: fluorescents (CFLs, T5s), HIDs (MH, HPS, LEC) and LEDs. Learn the differences so you can pick the best option for your setup!

Reading through here, the first topic are CFL's.

This easy tutorial explains how to grow cannabis indoors from seed to harvest. Learn how to take care of your plants with step-by-step instructions!

Bigslick the seedlings need light right away I use t5s with hortalux super veg bulbs but any lower wattage type of light, distance is important to if your seedlings are stretching move it closer ,if you can hold your hand under it for a few minutes without burning it then your ok
new grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

I agree with oldjarhead. As soon as they pop, put them under some t5's or cfls to start. As soon as I have a few nodes I move them to their final home. Just watch for them stretching. If they are just move the lights a bit closer.

Agree with the others. Cfl's are the way to go in seedling/clones. The problem with HID and LED is they are too powerful for a little newborn. You CAN use HID and LED but the lights need to be far away so as not to overwhelm the seedlings. I have found that cfl seedlings grow quicker.
