I’m a noob to growing, so the ignorance is real. That said, I’m using Kind Soil for my first grow, and I absolutely love how dead simple it is. Nutes sound like a headache and I don’t think they come out a lot cheaper than Kind Soil. Why isn’t this a super popular option? Why does super soil seem to be a relative rarity?

I used kind soil for a year then I broke down and started making my own super soil ,for me the cost was the big problem ,yes nutrients are more of a pain to use but the cost is way cheaper, I bloom 8 plants at a time and usually have the next run going at the same time ,so thats 160 gallons of soil with out counting the autos ,Kind soil is really good soil but cost prohibitive when growing a lot of plantsnew grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

Nutes do come out cheaper. Kind soil is missing the beneficial bacteria that makes the flavor more intense in the final product. Lastly, you have more control over what your plant eats, and when, if you are adding the nutes.4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

I have yet to finish this grow with nutes in order to do a comparison for future grows. I will add though, I plan for next year to create my own Super Soil.
Although it's dependent on cost vs benefit. So far (6)1gal, (6)7gal, (3)25gal. Ends up as roughly 92 gallons this year. Next year will be ~54gal more, 146 rounded to 150 gallons of soil.

that gets expensive I think we spent a total of 600 on making a super soil (did a double batch) ,when the second batch was ready I mixed in an equal amount of compost soil, I used a lot of this for veggie garden pots,i think out of all of that I have about 15 gallons leftnew grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

Wow, that’s a lot of soil! I just buy enough KS for my grow, which at my scale just isn’t that much. I think 45 gallons if I remember correctly.
