    Ice water hash adventure

Been saving up trim. Got 5-3/4 jars full. Feeling like it’s about that time to make ice water hash. Going to set the trim in the freezer tonight and hopefully get to washing by tomorrow. Care to join me?

So here is what I do. 8 bag & bucket system. The larger reservoir is a 3 gal bucket with a lid that has a hole drilled into it. This catches the water and allows me to push more volume in one run.
The second bucket is a 1 gallon with a hole drilled into the bottom. I attached a 1/4” nipple to a 1/4” tube and attached a shut off valve to it. This allows me to control the water height in the 1 gallon bucket.
The bags are 1 gallon sized and they go directly inside the 1 gallon bucket.

2 gallon bucket 1/2 full with water (will be soaking the dry trim in this bucket with some ice added first thing in morning. Will soak for several hours before I wash it), spray bottle full of water, and 1 gallon jug full of water. Chilled overnight in the refrigerator.
Extra ice in the freezer. Ready to make some cold water hash tomorrow.

Toker1 Sorry, I didn't understand. I just read the rest of your tutorial, and now I understand. I've done dry ice kief, but never done your method. Awesome results!!

The problem with dry ice is you get too much plant material contaminating the final product. Wait until I send Picts of the final product dried. You will see the dif. between the two.

The trim went into the 2gallon bucket that had the water chilling inside, then ice went on top of it all. I submerged the trim and let the ice hold it down under the water.
The purpose is to let the dried out trim absorb moisture again. This will ensure less plant material contamination in the final product.
I stuck the bucket back in the fridge to soak for several hours. Next step, washing.

Dump trim and water / ice mix into a separate 3 gallon bucket. Wash #1 8 min long. Wood spoon circling around to adgitate the water. The point is to let the ice knock the tric heads off with gentle agitation.

Press screen goes on top of a dinner plate and metal spoon is used to scope up wet hash from the bag.

A little ice below before the bags get set in the 1gallon bucket. Prevents drainage blockage. Ready to pour in the hash water l/ice mix.

Dump trim water / ice mix into 220 micron bag. This requires several dumps when the bag 220 micron gets filled up. When all the water has been siphoned off into the bag and bucket system, I drain into the 3 gal reservoir and shut off the valve when desired water level is reached. Now I am going to pool the hash into the center of the bubble bag using the spray bottle. I spray the sides until the hash piles up into the center of the bag. . I scoop it out with the metal spoon and set the hash to dry on the press screen. I spray the leftovers from each bag into the next sequential one. Severing as much as I can off the bag with the spray bottle. I replete this for all bags.

Run #2 8 min Wash. First, refill 3 gallon bucket (the one with all the previously washed trim inside it) with more ice and the previously used wash water from the first run. Repeat the process over and collect all of the hash possible.

Second run drying with the first. After 24 hours drying, I flip the hash up side down and let the side that was face down be face up for the next 24 hours. After that....I continue to dry in jars just like I was drying fresh bud. Open the jars once or twice per day until the center of the hash pieces are fully dried as well.

That seems like a decent amount. I'll try your method next weekend.
Do you use only the 220 size bag?

I dump the ice/water trim mix into the 220 bag. The other 7 bags are below the 220 one. So I use all 8 bags total. Gives 7 different grades of hash.

Oh ok, Large 220 is the 1st bag then they get smaller under the 220. Had I payed attention to the pictures I would have know that.
