I'm sure they have, but I have only ever grown autos. Give it a try! I'm sure if you can top a clone, you can quadlije them. I have heard that clones aren't as symmetrical as the originals, but it would probably be fine.
-
This method should work for clones once they have been established (roots have grown and plant is gaining new vegetation). Sometimes clones have longer stems but you can bury the stem up to the first set of leaves when you transplant. Like mcubed said, they might not be symetrical so it may be harder with some but it's definitely doable! Just takes practice!

I am inspired.
Going to germinate in the next week or so and I believe I need to try the quadlining. Photos not Autos.
Thanks @mcubed476

s62 is following my current grow lol. Thanks for the kind words spider mite!
I believe the Kush auto was a seedsman freebie

Yeah, you were the one that told me it grows quite large. For some reason I thought it was a fast finishing, smaller plant.
You were definitely right man lol

My grow that just finished with all the girls in the previous post of mine.
6 Shooter
Kush Auto
if you look at the stems when all the bud is gone, you can tell that I didnt open these 2 up enough during training. As a result, they became the tallest plants I've grown, getting too close to the light.
I would have trained them more, but I was on vacation and my house sitter was watching them at the crucial training time. I had started training before I left, and let them grow out the rest of the way without continuing the training.
The more you know!

After reading that auto's should not be trained that harshly I have discovered that many, many people do this sort of thing. My tent does not allow for giants so this training makes a pile of sense to me. Just have to start em right and keep them healthy.
Thanks for the post!

No problem man! If you've done your research on autos, you will definitely see that most people say to not train them like this.
I wouldn't have tried it if I didnt see people doing this sort of thing on YouTube with great results lol.
-
I agree with that. I also think autos have come a long way from where they used to be. It might possibly be true that autos used to get stunted through acts of high stress training when they first came out. With where they are now though, they aren't much different than photo period plants. You can do just about anything to them that you can do to a photo period.
I've even seen people use clones of autos and have successful grows. They have come a long way from the first ones!

My current girls, day 44. I mentioned in a comment earlier in this post that I still have some plants that don't yield a ton. These 2 strains, Red Poison and Trainwreck, are some that I was referring to.
Even quadlined, I can't seem to pull more than 2ish ounces off the Trainwreck. We will see how this one goes. The Red Poison has never been quadlined by me before, but I'm thinking it will be roughly the same result as the Trainwreck.
A big factor in yield definitely comes down to genetics.
Anyway, photoshoot.
If you have any plants currently being quadlined, throw in a pic!

My current autos are 6 mains. kept 3rd, 4th, 5th node branches and it is going to be huge. It is in my Fabric vs Plastic thread.
I have gone through all your grows and learned a ton as well as following Mr Furleys training. Many thanks.
-
Sounds like you have a sexline going then. Pretty kinky, huh? Lol.
No problem man. You are a great grower yourself! I'm excited to take a look at yours! Feel free to post it on here when she's done too.
Or now. Whenever lol

Here are the finished products of the grow I just got done doing.
As predicted, the Trainwreck and Red Poison yielded just shy of 3 oz each.
I had a mutant Blue Cheese that ended up with 3 branches per node instead of the usual 2. This came out to be an awesome quadline (a sexline specifically lol) with a very cool birds eye view of the plant. She ended looking more like a snowflake, which was awesome. Ended up with 3g less than 5 oz.
Trainwreck
Red Poison
She had a good structure for a quadline, but genetics are definitely a big factor when it comes to yield!

No problem! I like to update it every once in a while so people who have not seen it before will get the chance to if they are interested.

Doubledealing72 Much appreciated! Got a bunch of plants out in the greenhouse just old enough so Im about to start practice the quadline.
-
Hi Doubledealing72,
Here is that triple branched plant. A photoperiod I will transplant into a 20 gallon soon. Hope she bushes out and is large. Almost wish I had a nice male to cross her with.4 Photos.
