I just started my first 12 on 12 off room, and I'm taping off the little lights from the heater and the power strips Etc. I snuck in tonight to make sure it's completely dark and saw one tiny little eighth of an inch light from an outlet shining about 6 feet away from the plant. I thought oh no I need to cover it up! But as I was going downstairs, the thought struck me, what about plants growing outside when there's a starry night or a moonlit night? If that doesn't throw them off in their flowering time, or affect Airy buds or dense buds, why would hey tiny little 16th or 18th an inch light throw them off? Can anyone weigh in on this?

I leave a couple of bottom tent windows open, have red LEDS from power strips etc and so on - on photo grows.
Never had a problem, but there is no direct daylight shining in.
I would never recommend it- because beliefs are so strong amongst growers. It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

And into the night Mr. Furley wandered with only a question and a lux meter, was it for science? Or was he just stoned off his a $$? One may never know.
The answer came clear as day on the full moon lite night a couple months back, zero! Zero was all his Quest would bring to that fateful Lux meter reading.
Moon light is only a reflection of its former self. Star light is light years away,
pin holes are close by.

I had to have my clone cfl near my lower tent window once. The light was shining in, thought I would get herms for sure. Nope. Not a one. The plants were above the window enough, it didn’t do anything negative to my grow.4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

As an aficionado of amateur astronomy I have asked myself this same question, but not about the feeble extraterrestrial light effecting an outdoor grow, but the man made light pollution many are surrounded by. Street lights, security lights and passing cars on the streets certainly should have an affect, but in my estimation do not. I really think this obsession with darkness in totality for an indoor grow is just that although at harvest time I do insure absolute light deprivation. It makes sense that you want all of those undesired chemicals back down in the root ball when you chop.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed your prose Mr. Furley I have to disagree.
